​5 RBAF AND ONE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE CIVILIAN OFFICERS RECEIVED OBOE ENDEAVOUR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD

TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 21 October 2020 – A total of 6 officers comprising of 5 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) officers and one Ministry of Defence civilian officer received the OBOE Endeavour Award at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) presented by the Guest of Honour, Senator The Honourable Linda Reynolds CSC, Australia’s Minister for Defence today.

The award recipients were 722 Major (U) Pg Mohd Ezul Hazrin bin Pg Haji Zohaini, 726 Major Shahrul Amirul Iqbal bin Haji Sharbini @ Sarbini, 748 Major (U) Mohd Fazley bin Hasabullah, 763 Major (U) Muhd Zabri bin Abd Rahman, 771 Major Dk Nur Izzah Nazurah binti Pg Haji Mohammad and Noorhazwani binti Haji Ariffin.

The OBOE Endeavour Award is an Academic Excellence Program from the Australian Government that is awarded to the Command and Staff Course participants who have graduated with outstanding results during the course. These officers will be invited to Australia to meet with key Australian Defence Force leaders, visit an Australian military base, and participate in educational and cultural activities, as well as engage in dialogues and discussions. 

The program aimed to impart knowledge to the officers about Australia and its Defence Force, share commonalities on the region’s security and interest, as well as to build stronger relationship between the armed forces and enhance the bilateral defence relations between Brunei Darussalam and Australia. This event is the third in series since it first started in 2018.

The name ‘OBOE Endeavour Award’ was chosen to commemorate Australian Defence Force’s contribution to the successful liberation of Borneo from the Japanese occupation during Operation OBOE in World War II, which marked the beginning of Brunei Darussalam and Australia’s defence relationship.





5 PEGAWAI ABDB DAN SEORANG PEGAWAI AWAM KEMENTERIAN PERTAHANAN TERIMA ANUGERAH OBOE ENDEAVOUR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

TANAH JAMBU, Rabu, 21 Oktober 2020 – Seramai 6 orang pegawai yang terdiri daripada 5 orang Pegawai Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dan seorang pegawai awam Kementerian Pertahanan telah menerima anugerah OBOE Endeavour Academic Excellence yang telah disampaikan oleh Tetamu Kehormat majlis iaitu Senator The Honourable Linda Reynolds CSC, Menteri Pertahanan Australia hari ini.

Penerima-penerima anugerah adalah 722 Mejar (U) Pg Mohd Ezul Hazrin bin Pg Haji Zohaini, 726 Mejar Shahrul Amirul Iqbal bin Haji Sharbini @ Sarbini, 748 Mejar (U) Mohd Fazley bin Hasabullah, 763 Mejar (U) Muhd Zabri bin Abd Rahman, 771 Mejar Dk Nur Izzah Nazurah binti Pg Haji Mohammad dan Noorhazwani binti Ariffin.

Anugerah OBOE Endeavour adalah Program Kecemerlangan Akademik daripada Kerajaan Australia yang dianugerahkan kepada peserta-peserta Kursus Maktab Turus yang telah mencapai keputusan yang cemerlang semasa kursus tersebut. Pegawai-pegawai tersebut akan dijemput ke Australia untuk berjumpa dengan Ketua-ketua Pertahanan Australia, melawat pangkalan tentera Australia, mengikuti aktiviti-aktiviti pendidikan dan kebudayaan, serta melibatkan diri di dalam sesi dialog dan perbincangan.

Program ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kefahaman kepada pegawai-pegawai berkenaan mengenai Australia, Angkatan Tentera Australia, serta berkongsi mengenai persamaan di dalam kepentingan keselamatan serantau dan mengeratkan hubungan antara kedua buah angkatan tentera serta meningkatkan lagi hubungan pertahanan dua hala antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Australia. Majlis penyampaian anugerah ini adalah kali yang ketiga diadakan sejak ianya pertama kali diadakan pada tahun 2018.

Nama ‘Anugerah OBOE Endeavour’ dipilih sempena memperingati penglibatan Angkatan Tentera Australia dalam kejayaan membebaskan Borneo daripada Jepun semasa Operasi OBOE di Perang Dunia ke-2 yang telah menandakan permulaan hubungan pertahanan di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Australia.
