RBAirF SUPPORTS PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE (PAF) BLACKHAWK S70I PILOTS’ RECURRENCY TRAINING AT CAE BRUNEI MULTI-PURPOSE TRAINING CENTRE (MPTC)

Bandar Seri Begawan, Friday, 03 December 2021 – Philippine Air Force (PAF) Blackhawk S70i Pilots took their recurrency simulator training at CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre (MPTC), Bandar Seri Begawan, with the support of RBAirF Qualified Helicopter Instructors (QHI). This training marks the first time RBAirF provides house expertise to train Pilots from outside of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on the simulator at CAE Brunei MPTC. In addition, this marks a direct result of the inaugural Air Working Group (AWG) between RBAirF and PAF. The objectives of the AWG are to discuss Visits, Courses, Training and Exercises to strengthen the ties between the two Air Forces.

A total of Eleven PAF Pilots are attending the five-day recurrency course over six weeks in groups of two. The course consists of Computer-based Training (CBT) and synthetic skills in the CAE 3000 series Flight Simulator. Present at the Opening Ceremony for the course were Colonel (U) Hismawadi bin Hj Mohamad Said, the Commander of the Operations Group from RBAirF, Colonel Angelo Gerard P. Ariles from the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché, Pete Raymond V. Delfin the Chargé d'Affaires (CDA) of the Philippine Embassy and Haji Rozman bin Haji Junaidi, General Manager of CAE Brunei MPTC.

The training covers the simulator's technical knowledge and knowledge on in-flight emergencies such as engine failures, control malfunctions, and operations in bad weather, which will become an excellent platform to enhance the bilateral relationship between the two countries. This opportunity is a perfect example of utilising training as a platform to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Furthermore, this support from RBAirF to other Friendly Forces in the region will highlight Brunei Darussalam's status as an internationally recognised training partner for the Blackhawk S70i.


TUDB MEMBANTU JURUTERBANG BLACKHAWK S70I TENTERA UDARA FILIPINA DALAM MENJALANKAN LATIHAN DI CAE BRUNEI MULTI-PURPOSE TRAINING CENTRE (MPTC)

Bandar Seri Begawan, Jumaat, 03 Disember 2021 – Juruterbang Blackhawk S70i Tentera Udara Filipina (PAF) telah memulakan latihan simulator recurrency di CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre (MPTC), Bandar Seri Begawan dengan Jurulatih Helikopter TUDB sebagai tenaga pengajar. Buat pertama kalinya, TUDB telah mengadakan latihan bagi juruterbang dari Negara Luar di CAE Brunei MPTC yang merupakan hasil dari mesyuarat Kelompok Kerja Udara (KKU) antara TUDB dan PAF yang mana objektif KKU tersebut adalah bagi meningkatkan kerjasama antara kedua Tentera Udara melalui Lawatan, Pertukaran Anggota, Pendidikan dan Latihan.

Sebelas juruterbang PAF akan menjalani latihan selama lima hari secara bergilir. Latihan ini merangkumi pembelajaran menggunakan komputer dan juga Penerbangan Sintetik di dalam Simulator CAE Siri 3000. Hadir bagi merasmikan pembukaan latihan tersebut adalah Kolonel (U) Hismawadi bin Hj Mohamad Said, Pemerintah Kumpulan Gerakan TUDB, Kolonel Angelo Gerard P. Ariles iaitu Atase Pertahanan dan Angkatan Tentera Republik Filipina, Pete Raymond V. Delfin, Chargé d’Affaires Kedutaan Republik Filipina dan Haji Rozman bin Haji Junaidi, Pengurus Besar CAE Brunei MPTC.

Latihan yang dijalankan merangkumi pengetahuan teknikal serta latihan kecemasan sewaktu penerbangan seperti kegagalan enjin, sistem kawalan tidak berfungsi dan operasi ketika cuaca buruk. Latihan ketenteraan ini merupakan peluang yang baik bagi merapatkan lagi hubungan dua hala di antara dua negara ini. Sokongan TUDB kepada angkatan-angkatan tentera dari negara sahabat diharapkan dapat meningkatkan lagi status Negara Brunei Darussalam dalam memberikan latihan yang mampan bagi latihan pesawat Blackhawk S70i di rantau ini.
