ESTABLISHMENT OF COVID-19 HOLDING AREA MA’HAD (CHAM) AT MA’HAD ISLAM BRUNEI

TUTONG, Friday, 27 August 2021 - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other government agencies, including volunteers, have established the Task Force COVID-19 Holding Area Ma'had (CHAM) at Ma'had Islam Brunei, Tutong District to house COVID-19 patients in the fight against COVID-19's spread in Brunei Darussalam.

CHAM, operational since 19 August 2021, can accommodate a total of 904 patients where its establishment was implemented in three phases. For the first phase, it can accommodate a total of 104 patients, 336 patients in the second phase and 464 patients in the third phase. 

Several preventive measures have been implemented to limit the spread of COVID-19 among RBAF personnel operating at CHAM where each duty member is required to complete two doses of vaccination shots and undergo Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training. The Ministry of Health organises this training in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.






PENUBUHAN COVID-19 HOLDING AREA MA’HAD (CHAM) DI MA’HAD ISLAM BRUNEI

TUTONG, Jumaat, 27 Ogos 2021 - Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB), dengan kerjasama Kementerian Kesihatan dan agensi kerajaan lain, termasuk sukarelawan, telah menubuhkan Task Force COVID-19 Holding Area Ma'had (CHAM) di Ma'had Islam Brunei, Daerah Tutong untuk menempatkan pesakit-pesakit COVID-19  dalam memerangi penyebaran COVID-19 di Negara Brunei Darussalam. 

CHAM, yang mula beroperasi sejak 19 Ogos 2021, boleh menampung seramai 904 pesakit di mana penubuhannya telah dilaksanakan dalam tiga fasa. Bagi fasa pertama, ia boleh menampung seramai 104 pesakit, fasa kedua seramai 336 pesakit dan fasa ketiga seramai 464 pesakit.

Beberapa langkah pencegahan telah dilaksanakan untuk membendung penularan wabak COVID-19 di kalangan anggota ABDB yang bertugas di CHAM di mana setiap anggota bertugas mesti menerima dua dos suntikan vaksinasi serta latihan Peralatan Pelindung Diri (PPE). Kementerian Kesihatan menganjurkan latihan ini mengikut Prosedur Operasi Standard (SOP) dan garis pandu yang dikeluarkan oleh Kementerian Kesihatan.
