BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday, 18 February 2021 - Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) received a courtesy call from Commodore Richard Caton, the Australian Defence Adviser in the Republic of Singapore accredited to Brunei Darussalam today. Also, in attendance were the Chief of Staff RBAF and Director of Intelligence.
During the call, both sides expressed pleasure for the active interactions between the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and RBAF. The RBAF Commander expressed his confidence for the Expert Working Group’s Co-Chairmanship on Military Medicine between Brunei Darussalam and Australia for the 2020/2023 Cycle despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts that Commodore Richard Caton has displayed in ensuring bilateral defence relations between ADF and RBAF remain strong and wished him all the best in his future endeavours.
Commodore Richard Caton has been appointed as the Australian Defence Adviser in the Republic of Singapore and accredited to Brunei Darussalam since December 2018.

Commodore Richard Caton, Penasihat Pertahanan Australia di Republik Singapura yang diakreditasikan ke Negara Brunei Darussalam hari ini. Turut hadir adalah Ketua Staf ABDB dan Pengarah Perisikan.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, kedua-dua belah pihak telah meluahkan rasa gembira di atas interaksi yang aktif di antara
Australian Defence Force (ADF) dan ABDB. Pemerintah ABDB meluahkan keyakinannya dalam mempengerusikan bersama
Expert Working Group on Military Medicine bagi tahun 2020/2023 walaupun di tengah pandemic COVID-19. Beliau juga menzahirkan penghargaannya di atas usaha Commodore Richard Caton dalam memastikan hubungan ketenteraan dua hala di antara
ADF dan ABDB kekal teguh dan seterusnya mendoakan kejayaan beliau di masa hadapan.
Commodore Richard Caton telah mengambil alih jawatan sebagai Penasihat Pertahanan Australia di Republik Simgapura yang sekaligus diakreditasikan ke Negara Brunei Darussalam sejak bulan Disember 2018.
