DOHA, Wednesday, 06 March 2024 – Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) led a delegation from Brunei Darussalam to the Eighth Edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference 2024 (8th DIMDEX 2024) held from 04 March until 06 March 2024 in Doha, Qatar.
The opening ceremony of DIMDEX 2024 was graced by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, Deputy Emir of the State of Qatar. The exhibition had participation from 200 companies and 9 international pavilions alongside the Qatar Armed Forces which showcased the latest military capabilities and updates on defence industry development, bringing the world’s most advanced technologies, systems, and services in various defence and security fields.
At the sidelines of the exhibition, the RBAF Commander had courtesy calls with His Excellency Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs as well as Staff Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Mohammed bin Aqeel Al Nabit, Chief of Staff, Qatar Armed Forces.
DIMDEX 2024, with its theme of “Igniting the Future of Maritime Security and Beyond”, also features. The Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC) officiated by Major General (Dr/Air) Rashid Hamad Rashid Al Nuaimi, Commander of Strategic Studies Centre of Qatar Armed Forces. The conference was organised in partnership with the Strategic Studies Centre titled “Economic Growth Prospects Amidst Security Challenges and Their Global Impact”, in which panel discussions focused on maritime security, global warming and its impact on the economy, marine environment, cyber-security and artificial intelligence.
DIMDEX 2024 is a prestigious maritime defence exhibition under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar and hosted by Qatar Armed Forces. RBAF’s attendance at this exhibition provides an ideal platform for industry engagement in defence technologies and systems, vital for the realisation of capability development within Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
PEMERINTAH ANGKATAN BERSENJATA DIRAJA BRUNEI HADIRI THE DOHA INTERNATIONAL MARITIME DEFENCE EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE 2024 (DIMDEX 2024) EDISI KE-LAPAN
DOHA, Rabu, 06 Mac 2024 – Yang Mulia Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei mengetuai delegasi Negara Brunei Darussalam ke Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference 2024 Edisi Ke-Lapan (8th DIMDEX 2024) yang berlangsung dari 04 Mac hingga 06 Mac 2024 di Doha, Qatar.
Upacara pembukaan DIMDEX 2024 telah dirasmikan oleh His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, Timbalan Emir Qatar. Sebanyak 200 syarikat dan 9 pavilion antarabangsa termasuk Angkatan Bersenjata Qatar telah mengambil bahagian dalam pameran DIMDEX 2024 yang mempamerkan keupayaan tentera, teknologi, sistem dan perkhidmatan yang terkini dalam pembangunan industri pertahanan dan sekuriti.
Semasa pameran tersebut, Pemerintah ABDB juga telah membuat kunjungan hormat kepada Tuan Yang Terutama Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, Timbalan Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Negara bagi Hal Ehwal Pertahanan dan kepada Staff Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Mohammed bin Aqeel Al Nabit, Ketua Staf Angkatan Bersenjata Qatar.

Persidangan tersebut dianjurkan dengan kerjasama daripada Strategic Studies Centre Angkatan Bersenjata Qatar yang bertajuk “Economic Growth Prospects Amidst Security Challenges and Their Global Impact”, di mana perbincangan panel memfokuskan pada isu-isu seperti keselamatan maritim, pemanasan global dan kesannya terhadap ekonomi, persekitaran marin, keselamatan siber dan Artificial Intelligence.DIMDEX 2024 merupakan pameran berprestij pertahanan maritim di bawah naungan His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir Qatar dan dihoskan oleh Angkatan Bersenjata Qatar. Kehadiran ABDB di pameran tersebut memberikan landasan kukuh bagi penglibatan dalam industri teknologi dan sistem pertahanan demi merealisasikan pembangunan keupayaan Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB.
