4 – Three Research Officers, Lieutenant Dayangku Nurul Zawanah binti Pengiran Haji Omar, Haji Mohammad Zulfan Farhi bin Haji Sulaini, and Ahmad Dzulkhairi Awang Haji Mail, from the Human Performance Lab (HPL), Performance Optimisation Centre (POC) presented research abstracts in the 45th International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) World Congress on Military Medicine in Brisbane, Australia from 22 until 27 September 2024. The delegation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Dr Ummi Suzeyanna binti Haji Johari, the Chief Medical Services Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF).
The conference this year was organised by the Australian Defence Force with the theme “Military Medicine Shaping Global Health”. This conference was attended by medical, military and scientific experts to enhance the mutual exchange of future orientations, current scientific knowledge and past experiences among military medical services and to foster cooperation between military medicine and international health organisations.
There were various thematic sessions covered including scientific keynote speakers and workshops being held during the conference ranging from military health and well-being, physical and mental trauma injury studies to veteran and women’s health studies.
POC has submitted and accepted to present three abstracts titled ‘Association Between Biomechanical Characteristics of the Lower Limb and Injury Incidence in Military Cadet Training‘ and
‘Comparative Analysis Between Functional Movement Screening Sum Scores and Y-Balance Test Scores for Predicting Injury Incidence in Military Cadets’, which were accepted as short oral presentations while abstract ‘Utilising Funtioncal Movement Screen and Y-Balance Test as Evaluation Tools in Officer Cadet Training Programme’ was accepted for a poster presentation.



PEGAWAI-PEGAWAI PENYELIDIK DARI PUSAT OPTIMA KECERGASAN TENTERA MEMBENTANGKAN HASIL PENYELIDIKAN DALAM 45TH ICMM WORLD CONGRESS ON MILITARY MEDICINE
BRISBANE, Australia, Khamis, 26 September 2024 – Tiga Pegawai-Pegawai Penyelidik, Leftenan Dayangku Nurul Zawanah binti Pengiran Haji Omar, Haji Mohammad Zulfan Farhi bin Haji Sulaini dan Ahmad Dzulkhairi Awang Haji Mail dari Makmal Prestasi Insan (MPI), Pusat Optima Kecergesan Tentera (POKT) telah membentangkan hasil kajiselidik makmal tersebut di 45th International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) World Congress on Military Medicine, bertempat di Brisbane, Australia dari 22 hingga 27 September 2024. Delegasi tersebut diketuai oleh Leftenan Kolonel Dr Ummi Suzeyanna binti Haji Johari, Ketua Khidmat Perubatan dan Kesihatan, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB).
Persidangan tahun ini dianjurkan oleh Australian Defence Force dengan bertemakan “Military Medicine Shaping Global Health”. Persidangan ini telah dihadiri oleh pakar perubatan, ketenteraan, dan pakar sains untuk mempertingkatkan pertukaran bersama orientasi masa hadapan, pengetahuan ilmu saintifik semasa dan pengongsian pengalaman lalu di antara perkhidmatan perubatan ketenteraan serta bagi memupuk kerjasama antara perubatan ketenteraan dan organisasi kesihatan antarabangsa.
Terdapat pelbagai sesi tematik yang dibentangkan termasuk ucaptama para pembentang saintifik dan bengkel-bengkel yang diadakan semasa persidangan, merangkumi kesihatan dan kesejahteraan tentera, kajian kecederaan trauma fizikal dan mental, serta kajian kesihatan veteran dan wanita dalam ketenteraan.
