BOLKIAH GARRISON, 12 August 2024 –
A total of 40 Year 10 students participating in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Youth Camp visited the Ministry of Defence today.
The program is organised by Wawasan Brunei Secretariat Office at the Prime Minister’s Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports, Brunei Shell Petroleum, International School Brunei (ISB) and the Brunei Youth Council with the objective of educating the participants about SDG goals from both the global and national perspective before they attend the ISB Borneo Global Issues Conference in October 2024. Apart from visits and briefing sessions with government agencies, the participants also participated in dialogue sessions, community activities and leadership programs organized by registered non-governmental organizations in Brunei Darussalam.
The session with the Ministry of Defence was aimed to increase the participants’ awareness on peace and security efforts and it started at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defense and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS) with welcoming remarks by Major Shahrul Amirul Iqbal bin Haji Sharbini of the Joint Force Headquarters Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JFHQ RBAF). Ensuing the welcoming remarks was the first briefing session entitled “Involvement of RBAF In Peacekeeping Mission” delivered by Major Daud bin Etim, also from the JFHQ RBAF. The second briefing session entitled “An Outlook on Women, Peace and Security Initiatives” was delivered by Colonel Norsuriati binti Haji Sharbini, Head of the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Office RBAF. The final agenda at SHHBIDSS was a discussion panel session which consisted of RBAF officers from Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT), RBLF Land Engineering Combat Support Service (RBLF CSS) and JAG Office RBAF. The call to the Ministry of Defence concluded with a visit to the RBAF Museum.
The study visit to the Ministry of Defence was co-organized by JFHQ RBAF, Directorate of Personnel, the JAG Office RBAF as well as the Directorate of Administration and Manpower.
LAWATAN PESERTA PROGRAM SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG) YOUTH CAMP KE KEMENTERIAN PERTAHANAN
BOLKIAH GARISON, 12 Ogos 2024 – Seramai 40 pelajar Tahun 10 yang menyertai Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Youth Camp telah mengadakan lawatan ke Kementerian Pertahanan hari ini.
Program tersebut dikendalikan oleh Pejabat Wawasan Brunei, Jabatan Perdana Menteri dengan kerjasama Kementerian Pendidikan, Kementerian Kebudayaan Belia dan Sukan, Brunei Shell Petroleum, International School Brunei (ISB) dan Majlis Belia Brunei. Ianya bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan para peserta dengan pengetahuan mengenai matlamat-matlamat SDG dari perspektif global dan kebangsaan sebelum mereka menghadiri ISB Borneo Global Issues Conference yang akan diadakan pada bulan Oktober 2024. Selain daripada sesi lawatan dan taklimat bersama agensi-agensi kerajaan, para peserta juga terlibat dengan sesi dialog, aktiviti kemasyarakatan dan program kepimpinan yang dianjurkan oleh pertubuhan-pertubuhan bukan kerajaan yang berdaftar di negara ini.
Sesi lawatan ke Kementerian Pertahanan tersebut bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesedaran para peserta mengenai usaha-usaha keamanan dan keselamatan negara. Ianya bermula di Institut Pengajian dan Pertahanan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (IPPSHHB) dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada Mejar Shahrul Amirul Iqbal bin Haji Sharbini dari Markas Angkatan Bersama Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (MAB ABDB). Aturcara lawatan tersebut disusuli dengan pembentangan pertama bertajuk “Involvement of RBAF In Peacekeeping Mission” yang telah disampaikan oleh Mejar Daud bin Etim, juga dari MAB ABDB. Pembentangan kedua bertajuk “An Outlook on Women, Peace and Security Initiatives” pula telah disampaikan oleh Ketua Pejabat Perundangan Tentera ABDB iaitu Kolonel Norsuriati binti Haji Sharbini. Agenda terakhir semasa lawatan di IPPSHHB ialah sesi panel perbincangan yang terdiri daripada pegawai-pegawai ABDB dari Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB), Jabatanarah Agama ABDB (JAMA’AT), Kejuruteraan Darat Khidmat Bantuan Kombat Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (KBK TDDB) dan Pejabat Perundangan Tentera ABDB. Rombongan pelawat tersebut mengakhiri jadual lawatan mereke ke Kementerian Pertahanan dengan mengunjungi Muzium ABDB.
Sesi lawatan ke Kementerian Pertahanan telah dikendalikan bersama oleh MAB ABDB, Jabatanarah Keanggotaan, Pejabat Perundangan Tentera ABDB serta Jabatanarah Pentadbiran dan Tenaga Manusia.
