BOLKIAH GARRISON, Tuesday, 16 June 2026 – The Ministry of Defence hosted a ceremony to commemorate the beginning of the Islamic New Year 1448H at Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison. Similar ceremonies were also held at all suraus in Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) garrisons, camps and bases including Pulau Baru-Baru mosque.
The event was attended by Yang Mulia Captain Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Joint Force Commander, RBAF, as well as senior officers and personnel from the Ministry of Defence.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of doa for the end of 1447 Hijrah, followed by a mass Fardhu Maghrib prayer. The recitation of wirid and doa for the new year 14478 Hijrah was led by Yang Mulia Imam Muhd Habib Azizi bin Muhd Ghazali, Imam of Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison. The meaningful occasion also featured the recitation of Surah Yaasin, seeking blessings and guidance in the new year.
The ceremony concluded with a mass Fardhu Isya’ prayer, marking a spiritual and reflective start to the new Islamic year.
SAMBUTAN AWAL TAHUN BARU HIJRAH 1448
BOLKIAH GARISON, Selasa, 16 Jun 2026 – Kementerian Pertahanan telah mengadakan satu majlis bagi memperingati permulaan Tahun Baru Islam 1448H yang berlangsung di Surau Ad-Difa’, Kem Bolkiah. Majlis yang serupa turut diadakan secara serentak di seluruh surau garison, perkhemahan dan pangkalan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB), termasuk Masjid Pulau Baru-Baru.
Majlis tersebut telah dihadiri oleh Yang Mulia Kepten Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Timbalan Pemerintah Markas Angkatan Bersama, ABDB serta pegawai kanan dan warga Kementerian Pertahanan.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan doa akhir tahun 1447 Hijrah, diikuti dengan sembahyang Fardhu Maghrib berjemaah. Bacaan wirid dan doa awal tahun 1448H telah dipimpin oleh Yang Mulia Imam Muhd Habib Azizi bin Muhd Ghazali, Imam Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garison. Majlis yang penuh penghayatan ini turut diserikan dengan bacaan Surah Yaasin.
Majlis diakhiri dengan sembahyang Fardhu Isya’ berjemaah, menandakan permulaan bagi tahun hijrah yang baharu.
