​MUARA, Saturday, 17 July 2021 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in Brunei waters last Saturday involving two ships, KDB DARULEHSAN of RBN, captained by Commander Saiful Hazril bin Haji Ali, RBN and RSS FEARLESS (22) of RSN, captained by Major Chew Chun Cheong, RSN.

During the PASSEX, both navies demonstrated their ability to work together through numerous serials including Publication Exercise (PUBEX), Maneuvering Exercise (MANEX) and Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) that were focused on enhancing operational interoperability and tactical expertise as well as strengthened bilateral ties between the two navies.

Prior to the PASSEX, the RBN conducted a pre-sail brief with the RSS FEARLESS, RSN as a follow up of the IPC & FPC for the upcoming execution phase virtually that was broadcasted from the Multi-National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Muara Naval Base. Both ships’ Captains along with their respective Executive Officers (XO) and other officers were also present during the serialised brief.

The exercise concluded with both captains expressing their satisfaction with the exercise and their hope to have more opportunities in the future to further strengthen ties between both navies.

RSS Fearless (22) was in Brunei from 15 – 17 July 2021.

TENTERA LAUT DIRAJA BRUNEI MELAKSANAKAN LATIHAN PASSAGE DENGAN KAPAL TENTERA LAUT REPUBLIK SINGAPURA, RSS FEARLESS (22)

MUARA, Sabtu, 17 Julai 2021 – Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) dan Tentera Laut Republik Singapura (TLRS) telah melaksanakan latihan Passage (PASSEX) di perairan Brunei pada Sabtu lalu melibatkan dua kapal, iaitu KDB DARULEHSAN yang diketuai oleh Komander Saiful Hazril bin Haji Ali, TLDB dan RSS FEARLESS (22) yang diketuai oleh Mejar Chew Chun Cheong, TLRS.

Semasa PASSEX, kedua tentera laut memperlihatkan kemampuan mereka untuk berkerjasama melalui beberapa siri eksesais termasuk Publication Exercise (PUBEX), Maneuvering Exercise (MANEX) and Search dan Rescue Exercise (SAREX) yang tertumpu peningkatan operasi dan kepakaran taktikal operasi serta mengeratkan hubungan dua hala antara kedua tentera laut.

Sebelum perlaksanaan PASSEX, TLDB telah mengadakan perbincangan sebelum perlayaran bersama kapal RSS FEARLESS (22) secara dalam talian yang disiarkan dari Pusat Koordinasi Berbilang Negara (MNCC), Pangkalan Tentera Laut Muara. Ianya telah dihadiri oleh Pegawai Pemerintah dua buah kapal bersama dengan Pegawai Pelaksana dan pegawai-pegawai yang bertugas di kapal tersebut.

Latihan itu berakhir dengan kedua Pegawai Pemerintah kapal menzahirkan kepuasan dengan latihan tersebut dan berharap akan mempunyai lebih banyak peluang di masa hadapan untuk mengeratkan lagi hubungan antara kedua tentera laut.
