BOLKIAH GARRISON, Tuesday, 23 September 2025 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, received a courtesy call from Yang Berbahagia General Dato’ Sri Haji Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris, Chief of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF). This was the first official visit to Brunei Darussalam following his appointment as the Chief of the RMAF on 26 June 2025.
During the call, both sides expressed satisfaction with the close and longstanding defence relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia including between the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and RMAF. This comprehensive defence cooperation is strengthened through agreements, exchanges of visits, meetings, trainings, courses and the joint military exercise including the Search and Rescue Exercise Malaysia Brunei (SAREX MALBRU) conducted by both air forces. The SAREX MALBRU 12/2025 is scheduled to take place from 25 to 31 October 2025 in Brunei Darussalam.
Also present at the courtesy call were Yang Mulia Poh Kui Choon, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence; Yang Mulia Brigadier General (U) Haji Haszahaidi Bin Haji Ahmad Daud, Commander of RBAirF; Yang Mulia Colonel Haji Nor Azizi bin Abdullah, Defence Adviser of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam; and defence officials from the Ministry of Defence.

BOLKIAH GARISON, Selasa, 23 September 2025 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Pertahanan II, telah menerima kunjungan hormat daripada Yang Berbahagia Jeneral Dato’ Sri Haji Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris, Panglima Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM). Ini merupakan lawatan pertama ke Negara Brunei Darussalam sejak dilantik sebagai Panglima TUDM pada 26 Jun 2025.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, kedua-dua pihak menyatakan rasa puas hati dengan hubungan pertahanan yang sangat erat dan kian lama terjalin di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Malaysia termasuk di antara Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) dan TUDM. Kerjasama pertahanan yang komprehensif ini diperkukuhkan melalui perjanjian, pertukaran lawatan, mesyuarat, latihan, kursus serta eksesais ketenteraan Search and Rescue Exercise Malaysia Brunei (SAREX MALBRU) yang dikendalikan oleh kedua belah tentera udara. Eksesais SAREX MALBRU 12/2025 dijangka akan diadakan pada 25 – 31 Oktober 2025 di Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Turut hadir semasa kunjungan hormat tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Poh Kui Choon, Pemangku Setiausaha Tetap di Kementerian Pertahanan; Yang Mulia Brigedier Jeneral (Udara) Haji Haszahaidi bin Haji Ahmad Daud, Pemerintah TUDB; Yang Mulia Kolonel Haji Nor Azizi bin Abdullah, Penasihat Pertahanan Malaysia ke Negara Brunei Darussalam; serta pegawai-pegawai daripada Kementerian Pertahanan.
