RUSSIAN NAVY SHIPS ARRIVED IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM FOR GOODWILL VISIT

MUARA, Monday, 19 November 2018 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed the arrival of three Russian Navy Ships, namely Varyag (Slava - Class Guided Missile Class), RFS Admiral Panteleyev (Udaloy - class destroyer) and replenishment vessel RFS Boris Butoma (Boris Chilikin - class fleet oiler). The Russian Pacific Fleet are currently in Brunei for a goodwill visit from 18 – 23 November 2018. The head of the Russian Navy delegation for the visit is Rear Admiral Eduard E. Mikhailov, the Commanding Officer of the Combat Ships Group of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation and the Chief of Staff of the Submarine Forces of the Pacific Fleet.

The head of the Russian Navy delegation called on the Acting Commander of the RBN, Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, RBN. Both sides discussed areas of opportunity to further enhance bilateral relationship between the two navies. 

The visit programme include various activities including sports interaction, ship visits, a lecture on the history of the Russian Pacific Fleet and a beach cleaning campaign. 

The Russian Pacific Fleet last visited Brunei Darussalam 12 to 17 October last year. 






LAWATAN MUHIBBAH KAPAL TENTERA LAUT RUSSIAN PACIFIC FLEET 

MUARA, Isnin, 19 November 2018 – Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) menyambut ketibaan Kapal Tentera Laut Rusia iaitu, Varyag (Slava - Class Guided Missile Class), RFS Admiral Panteleyev (Udaloy - class destroyer) dan replenishment vessel RFS Boris Butoma (Boris Chilikin - class fleet oiler). Delegasi dari Russian Pacific Fleet berada di Negara Brunei Darussalam bagi lawatan muhibbah dari 18 – 23 November 2018. Delegasi tersebut diketuai oleh Rear Admiral Eduard E. Mikhailov, Pemerintah Armada Pasifik Persekutuan Rusia dan Ketua Angkatan Kapal Selam Armada Pasifik Persekutuan Rusia.

Ketua delegasi telah mengadakan kunjungan hormat kepada Pemangku Pemerintah TLDB, Kepten Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, TLDB. Kedua-dua pihak telah membincangkan peluang kerjasama untuk memperkukuh hubungan dua hala di antara kedua angkatan laut.

Program lawatan tersebut melibatkan beberapa aktiviti-aktiviti seperti interaksi dengan pegawai dan anggota TLDB melalui sukan, lawatan ke kapal-kapal, kuliah mengenai sejarah Russian Pacific Fleet dan aktiviti membersihkan pantai.

Tentera Laut Rusia telah membuat lawatan ke Negara Brunei Darussalam 12 hingga 17 Oktober tahun lepas.
