MUARA, Saturday, 17 November 2018 – The first Navy Staff Talks (NST) between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Russian Navy was held at the Naval Training Centre (NTC), Muara Naval Base, from 13 to 17 November 2018. The RBN delegation was headed by Commander Khairil Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN, Commandant Naval Training, RBN, while the Russian Navy delegation was represented by Captain 1^st Rank Sergei Vavilov, Chief of International Military Cooperation, Russian Navy. Also joining the meeting were representatives from Corporate and Legal Unit and the Directorate of Defence Policy from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), Brunei Darussalam.

The first day of the meeting began with a welcoming address from Captain Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN, Fleet Commander RBN. The RBN Fleet Commander reiterated the warm relationship between the two navies through significant activities undertaken by both sides in the recent times. The Russian Navy delegation expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome they have received in Brunei Darussalam. The meeting explored more opportunities for defence cooperation between RBN and the Russian Navy, further strengthening bilateral relations between both countries. 

The Russian Navy delegation also made cultural and historical site visits during their stay in Brunei Darussalam such as the Maritime Museum in Kota Batu, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Museum in Bolkiah Garrison, a boat tour around Kampong Ayer, Masjid Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien and Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas in Bandar Seri Begawan. 

The 2^nd NST is scheduled to be held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation during the second half of 2019.

TENTERA LAUT DIRAJA BRUNEI DAN TENTERA LAUT RUSIA MENGADAKAN MESYUARAT NAVY STAFF TALKS KALI PERTAMA DI NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

MUARA, Sabtu, 17 November 2018 - Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) dan Tentera Laut Rusia (TLR) telah mengadakan mesyuarat Navy Staff Talks (NST) kali pertama di Negara Brunei Darussalam (NBD) di Pusat Latihan Tentera Laut, Pangkalan Muara. Delegasi TLDB telah diketuai oleh Komander Khairil Haji Abdul Rahman, TLDB, Komandan Latihan Laut, TLDB, manakala delegasi TLR telah diketuai oleh Kepten 1^st Rank Sergei Vavilov, Chief of International Military Cooperation, TLR. Turut menghadiri mesyuarat adalah wakil daripada Unit Korporat dan Perundangan, dan Jabatanarah Dasar Pertahanan.

Mesyuarat NST pada hari pertama dimulai dengan ucapan alu-aluan yang telah disampaikan oleh Kepten Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, TLDB, Pemerintah Armada TLDB. Pemerintah Armada TLDB menekankan hubungan yang baik di antara kedua buah tentera laut melalui aktiviti-aktiviti yang telah dijalankan setakat ini. Delegasi TLR turut menunjukkan penghargaan di atas sambutan yang telah di terima di NBD. Mesyuarat NST juga meneroka peluang bagi kerjasama di antara TLDB and TLR yang akan memperkukuhkan lagi hubungan dua hala antara kedua-dua negara.

Delegasi TLR juga telah membuat lawatan ke Muzium Maritim di Kota Batu, Muzium Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) di Bolkiah Garrison, Kampong Ayer, Masjid Omar 'Ali Saifuddien dan Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas di Bandar Seri Begawan.

Mesyuarat NST kali kedua dijadualkan pada tahun 2019 di St. Petersburg, Rusia.
