BACOLOD CITY, PHILIPPINES, Saturday, 29 September 2018 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ship, KDB DARUTTAQWA was at Bredco Port alongside with the Philippine Navy (PN) ship BRP ANDRES BONIFACIO after completing the bilateral exercise ‘Exercise SEAGULL 08/18’.
The exercise commenced on 24 September 2018 in Cebu City for the harbour phase, followed by the sea phase conducted in the vicinity of Camotes and Visayan Seas, prior entering Bredco Port, Bacalod City on 27 September 2018.
The exercise concluded with a closing ceremony officiated onboard the BRP ANDRES BONIFACIO with closing remarks by Captain Renato P. David, Commander Naval Task Force 50. Present as the guest of honour was Captain Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN, Fleet Commander RBN.
The exercise culminated in a sea rider exchange, community service activities, helicopter landing operations, gunnery exercise, communications exercises and combined Vessel Board Search and Seize (VBSS) between the two navies. Furthermore, the RBN medical team and crew led by Major (Dr) Isehardy bin Murni participated in a joint community service activity with personnel from the PN by holding free medical consultations and providing free medications to the people.
Underscoring the long-standing bilateral defence relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines, Exercise SEAGULL provide opportunities for both navies to strengthen professional relationships and enhance interoperability through the development of common operational doctrines, procedures and tactics.
EKSESAIS SEAGULL SIRI 08/18 DI ANTARA TENTERA LAUT DIRAJA BRUNEI DAN TENTERA LAUT REPUBLIK FILIPINA BERAKHIR
BACALOD CITY, REPUBLIK FILIPINA, Sabtu, 29 September 2018 – Kapal Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) KDB DARUTTAQWA berada di Pelabuhan Bredco bersama dengan kapal Tentera Laut Republik Filipina BRP ANDRES BONIFACIO setelah selesai menjalankan latihan dua hala ‘Eksesais SEAGULL 08/18’.
Eksesais bermula pada 24 September 2018 di Cebu City bagi fasa pelabuhan, diikuti oleh fasa laut yang dijalankan di sekitar Lautan Camotes dan Visayans, sebelum tiba di Pelabuhan Bredco, Bacalod City pada 27 September 2018.
Eksesais tersebut telah berakhir dengan satu majlis penutup yang diadakan di atas kapal BRP ANDRES BONIFACIO dengan ucapan penutup oleh Kepten Renato P. David, Commander Naval Task Force 50. Hadir sebagai tetamu kehormat ialah Kepten Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, TLDB, Pemerintah Armada TLDB
Latihan ini merangkumi pertukaran sea rider, aktiviti-akitiviti komuniti, operasi pendaratan helicopter, latihan menembak, latihan komunikasi, dan latihan Vessel Board Search and Seize (VBSS) di antara kedua-dua tentera laut. Selain itu, satu pasukan perubatan TLDB yang diketuai oleh Mejar (Dr) Isehardy bin Murni mengambil bahagian dalam aktiviti perkhidmatan komuniti bersama dengan kakitangan Tentera Laut Republik Filipina dengan mengadakan konsultasi perubatan percuma dan menyedia ubat percuma kepada penduduk.
Menggariskan hubungan pertahanan dua hala yang lama terjalin di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Filipina, Eksesais SEAGULL memberikan peluang kepada kedua-dua tentera laut untuk mengukuhkan hubungan profesional dan meningkatkan interoperabiliti melalui pembangunan doktrin, prosedur dan taktik operasi yang sama.
