
RIMBA CAMP, Saturday, 9 December 2023 — The Royal Brunei Malay Reserve Regiment (RBMRR) held the Brunei International Cadet Exchange Programme, a bilateral initiative aimed at fostering cooperation and friendship between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Brunei Military Cadets (RBAF MC) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Singapore, from the 3rd until 9th December 2023. The week-long exchange saw the participation of 18 cadets from the RBAF MC and 14 cadets from the NCC Singapore.
Present as Guest of Honor at the official opening ceremony on the 4th December 2023, held at Rimba Camp was 451 Major (U) Pengiran Azizul bin Pengiran Mohammad Yussof, Acting Commanding Officer RBMRR. Also in attendance was the Commandant of the National Cadet Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Ong Siong Beng, who led the delegation from the National Cadet Corps Singapore.
The cadets had the privilege of visiting the 1st Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) in providing them with valuable insights into the operational aspects of the RBLF. The cadets were presented with a static display showcasing various weapons and survival tactics employed by the military personnel. This hands-on experience will further enrich their understanding of military equipment and tactics, contributing to their overall military education.
Basic Jungle Training is the crucial part of the training program. The objective of the training is for the cadets to experience the challenges and the dynamics of the jungle environment, their application for survival skills and enhancing their ability to adapt in various terrains. Prior to the practical jungle training, the cadets received comprehensive theoretical instruction on jungle training, covering important aspects such as harboring methods, sound identification, and camouflage techniques. This theoretical preparation aimed to equip the cadets with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate and survive effectively in the jungle.
Throughout the week, the cadets engaged in a diverse range of cross-cultural activities such as visits to the RBAF Museum and the Brunei Arts and Handicraft Training Centre, exploring the Gadong Night Market and the
Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas. These activities were designed to expose the cadets to the rich cultural heritage, to foster a sense of appreciation for diversity and shared values.
The closing ceremony, held on the 8th December 2023 at Badiah Hotel, was attended by the Guest of Honor, Lieutenant Colonel Mohamad Hanafi Azami bin Nayan, Acting Director of Personnel, Ministry of Defence. The ceremony was to celebrate for the successful completion of the program and to symbolize the enduring friendship as well as cooperation between the two nations.




ASKAR SIMPANAN MELAYU DIRAJA BRUNEI MENGADAKAN PROGRAM PERTUKARAN KADET ANTARABANGSA BRUNEI
KEM RIMBA, Sabtu, 9 Disember 2023 — Askar Simpanan Melayu Diraja Brunei (ASMDB) telah mengadakan Program Pertukaran Kadet Antarabangsa Brunei, satu inisiatif dua hala yang bertujuan untuk mengeratkan kerjasama dan persahabatan antara Kadet Tentera Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (KT ABDB) dan
National Cadet Corps (NCC) Singapura, dari 3 hingga 9 Disember 2023. Pertukaran seminggu ini melibatkan penyertaan seramai 18 orang kadet dari KT ABDB dan 14 orang kadet dari
NCC Singapura.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat bagi upacara pembukaan rasmi pada 4 Disember 2023, di Kem Rimba, adalah, 451 Mejar (U) Pengiran Azizul bin Pengiran Mohammad Yussof, Pemangku Pegawai Pemerintah ASMDB. Turut hadir adalah Komandan
NCC Singapura, Leftenan Kolonel Ong Siong Beng selaku ketua delegasi.
Para kadet berpeluang untuk membuat lawatan ke Batalion Pertama, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (1Bn TDDB) dalam memberikan pengetahuan yang bernilai dari segi aspek operasi TDDB. Para kadet juga dibawa melihat ke pameran statik yang memperlihatkan pelbagai jenis senjata dan taktik ikhtiar hidup yang digunakan oleh anggota-anggota tentera. Pengalaman secara dekat ini akan memberikan lebih kefahaman akan peralatan dan taktik ketenteraan yang menyumbang kepada pengetahuan ketenteraan secara menyeluruh.
Sesi latihan asas hutan adalah komponen penting didalam program latihan ini. Objektif latihan tersebut adalah untuk memberikan pengalaman kepada para kadet akan persekitaran hutan yang mencabar lagi dinamik, penggunaan kemahiran ikhtiar hidup dan juga untuk belajar meningkatkan penyesuaian kepada pelbagai cabaran. Sebelum latihan hutan praktikal, kadet mempelajari teori yang komprehensif mengenai latihan hutan, merangkumi aspek penting seperti kaedah bermalam, pengenalan bunyi, dan teknik samaran. Para kadet diberikan persediaan teori tersebut adalah bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan mereka dengan pengetahuan dan kemahiran yang diperlukan untuk membuat navigasi dan bertahan dengan berkesan dihutan.
Sepanjang minggu tersebut, para kadet juga terlibat dalam pelbagai aktiviti silang budaya seperti lawatan ke Muzium ABDB dan Pusat Kesenian Brunei, mengunjungi Pasar Malam dan Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas. Aktiviti-aktivit tersebut direka untuk mendedahkan para kadet kepada warisan budaya dan memupuk rasa penghargaaan kepada kepelbagaian dan nilai-nilai yang dikongsi bersama.
