HUA HIN, Thursday, 23 November 2023 – The 24th ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM) between Chiefs of Armies of ASEAN member countries was held in Hua Hin, Kingdom of Thailand. Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) delegation attended the meeting led by Brigadier General Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, Commander of the RBLF.
The meeting officiated by General Charoenchai Hinthao, Chief of the Royal Thai Army as Chairman of the 24th ACAMM with the theme “Armies Collaboration to Reinforce ASEAN Centrality”. Prior to the meeting, a keynote address was delivered by General Surapong Suwana-adth, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and Thailand Senate Member. The Chiefs of Armies and representatives from all ASEAN members had the opportunity to share their views and visions based on this year’s theme. Commander of the RBLF also held bilateral meetings with the Chiefs of Army and representatives attending the 24th ACAMM.
The 11th ASEAN Sergeant Major Annual Meeting (11th ASMAM) was also held concurrently with 24th ACAMM and was chaired by Colonel Paitoon Buranasak, Deputy Commandant Army Intelligence School. Warrant Officer 1 Kifley bin Haji Johari, Land Force Sergeant Major led his delegation in the meeting with the theme, “Role of Armies’ Non-Commissioned Officer to Enhance Armies Collaboration to Reinforce ASEAN Centrality”.
Commander of the RBLF and delegates also attended the closing of the 31st ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (31st AARM) the following day. The 31st AARM was opened on 20th November 2023 and participated by 420 personnel including 42 personnel from the RBLF. The highlights of the closing were final pistol, carbine, rifle and the Novelty Shoot matches participated by all the Chiefs of Army and representatives.
AARM is an annual shooting event for the ASEAN Armies that aims not only to sharpen shooting skills but more importantly, to promote comradeship and foster trust, respect and mutual understanding among the participants.
This flagship event has been held concurrently with ACAMM since 2000 and ASMAM since 2011. The Philippines Army will host the 32nd AARM, 25th ACAMM and 12th ASMAM next year.

ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (24th ACAMM) kali ke 24 diantara Ketua-ketua Tentera Darat dari negara-negara ASEAN telah berlangsung di Hua Hin, Kerajaan Thailand. Delegasi Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah menghadiri mesyuarat tersebut yang diketuai oleh Brigedier Jeneral Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, Pemerintah TDDB.
Mesyuarat tersebut telah dirasmikan oleh Jeneral Charoenchai Hinthao,

ACAMM ke 24 yang bertemakan, “Armies Collaboration to Reinforce ASEAN Centrality”. Sebelum mesyuarat berlangsung, satu ucaptama telah disampaikan oleh Jeneral Surapong Suwana-adth, mantan
Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces dan juga merupakan Ahli Senat Thailand. Ketua-ketua Tentera Darat dan wakil-wakil dari ahli-ahli ASEAN berpeluang untuk berkongsi pandangan dan visi masing-masing berpandukan tema pada tahun ini. Pemerintah TDDB juga mengadakan mesyuarat dua hala bersama Ketua-ketua Tentera Darat dan wakil-wakil yang menghadiri
ACAMM ke 24.
Mesyuarat ASEAN
Sergeant Major Annual Meeting kali ke 11 (11th ASMAM) juga telah diadakan serentak yang dipengerusikan oleh Kolonel Paitoon Buranasak, Timbalan Komandan
Army Intelligence School. Mesyuarat pada kali ini yang bertemakan “Role of Armies Non-Commissioned Officer to Enhance Armies Collaboration to Reinforce ASEAN Centrality” telah dihadiri oleh Pegawai Waran 1 Kifley bin Haji Johari, Sarjan Mejar TDDB selaku ketua delegasi.
Pemerintah TDDB dan rombongan juga telah menghadiri Upacara Penutup
ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet kali ke 31 (31st AARM) pada hari berikutnya.
AARM ke 31 telah dirasmikan pada 20 November 2023 dan disertai oleh 420 anggota tentera darat ASEAN termasuk 44 anggota dari TDDB. Kemuncak bagi upacara penutup tersebut adalah perlawanan akhir bagi acara
pistol, carbine,
rifle ada acara
Novelty Shoot bagi Ketua-ketua Tentera Darat dan wakil-wakil.
AARM merupakan pertandingan menembak tahunan diantara tentera darat negara- negara ASEAN dengan matlamat bukan sahaja untuk menggalas kemahiran menembak malah yang lebih penting ialah untuk mengeratkan silaturahim dan membina kepercayaan, rasa hormat dan persefahaman di antara para peserta.
Perlawanan menembak ini telah dilaksanakan secara serentak dengan mesyuarat
ACAMM sejak tahun 2000 dan mesyuarat
ASMAM sejak tahun 2011. Tentera Darat Filipina akan menjadi tuan rumah bagi
AARM ke 32,
ACAMM ke 25 dan
ASMAM ke 12 pada tahun hadapan.
