NAVAL BASE MUARA, Thursday 17 Oct 2013 – Newly renovated Medical Reception Station (MRS) was officially handed over to its enduser was held this morning. The mock key was presented from main Contractor ATH Niagebena Sdn Bhd to Director of Development and Work Services.
From Director of DDWS to Deputy Permanent Secretary (Technology), Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad to the Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Navy Colonel (L) Pg Norazmi bin Pg Mohammad on behalf of Commander Navy.
The team was later led through a tour of Medical Reception Station (MRS) Building to view the facilities such as at ground level the Main entrance, Waiting Areas, Children’s Corner, Isolation areas, Staff duty Rooms, Administration, Family Clinic, Doctors’ room, Dispensary, Audiogram, Emergency, and Daywards, and at the first floor the Dental area inclusive of Main entrance, Reception, Waiting areas, Children’s corner, Meeting room, Pantry, Surgery Room1, Office, Decontamination room, Lab/X-ray Developing room, Admin Officer Office, Store, Toilets, and Utility Room.

The Consultants team for this project comprised of ECO Bumi as Arkitek, Seri Bumi Consultant as the Civil & Structural Consultant, Sepakat Setia Perunding as the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Consultant and Hanafi Consultant as the Quantity Surveyor.
This project was tendered for B$1,990,812.75 million. Construction commenced on 28th December 2012 with a 9 months construction period which was practically completed on 27th September 2013.
MRS Muara first started services in 1977 its roles include to provide operational medical support for Royal Brunei Navy and Special Forces Regiment based in Muara Naval Base. It also serves medical care for personnel of Royal Brunei Navy and their family. Provides specialist diving medical exams for military divers and hyperbaric chamber support services.
