RIMBA, Friday 24 February 2012 - The Air Regiment Wing emerged as the winner of overall Half Marathon Championship Royal Brunei Air Force (TUDB) 2012 this year for the 21km Team Event.
Second place went to Training and Admin, and third place went to Logistic Wing.
In attendance as the Guest of Honour was the Commander TUDB, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Jofri bin Haji Abdullah who was also present at the starting line to show support to the marathon participants.
The marathon, organised by the TUDB began this morning from Dewan Punai for all categories, which also ended at the same location for all categories, 21km and 10km events. This year’s events saw the categories divided into two – the 21km and 10km. Under 10km category there are Men’s Open Major and above, Men’s Open 30-39 Years Old Other Ranks, Men’s Open 40 years old and above Other Ranks, Women’s Open 36 Years Old and Below and Women’s Open 37 Years Old and Above. The marathon also staged a 21km Men’s Open category whereby the top 10 overall runners as well as top 5 officers were rewarded with prizes and medals.
The half-marathon event was concluded with the medals, prizes and challenge trophy was presentation by the Deputy Commander TUDB, Colonel Ali bin Sabar.
