JERUDONG, Wednesday 4 Dec 2013 – The prince and princess of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah were among the visitors to BRIDEX 2013 this morning.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah were greeted by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binti Haji Umar, Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) Ministry of Defence cum Chairman of the Bridex 2013 Organising Committee, Haji Azhar Haji Ahmad, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) and the Bridex 2013 Exhibition Director, Hajah Rosmawati binti Haji Manaf.
Their Royal Highnesses first witnessed the aerobatic display of featured aircrafts from Brunei, USA, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Aircrafts that participated in the air demonstration was PC-7 from Royal Brunei Air Force Brunei, KT-1 Woongbi Fixed Wing from Indonesia National Air Force, United States Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey and F-15 from Republic of Singapore Armed Forces and finally the UAV demonstration by France.
Their Royal Highnesses then consented to tour the exhibition inside the BRIDEX Hall 1 and proceeded to the Sikorsky 70i Black Hawk helicopter. Their Royal Highnesses were seen to be very interested in the display of the Black Hawk as they went inside to explore the aircraft.
Their Royal Highnesses then visited the CAE Multipurpose Training Centre (MPTC) booth where His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel tries out the Flight Simulator. From here, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah explored the multi-purpose vehicle AMV at the Rosomak booth from Poland.
Before leaving the BRIDEX Exhibition Centre, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah briefly visited BRIDEX Hall 2 where His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel explored the armoured vehicle at the Rheinmetal Defence booth. From BRIDEX Exhibition Centre, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah consented to visit the static displays at the Royal Brunei Air Force Rimba Air Base.
The arrival of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah was greeted by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, Brigadier General (U) Haji Wardi bin Haji Abd Latip.
At the Rimba Air Base, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah toured all the aircrafts showcased by the Indonesia National Air Force, Royal Malaysian Air Force, Republic of Singapore Air Force, Royal Thai Air Force, United States Marine Corps and Air Force.
