BANGKOK, KINGDOM OF THAILAND, Monday, 13 March 2023 – The 10th ASEAN Chiefs of Military Medicine Conference (ACMMC) was held at the Conrad Bangkok Hotel, the Kingdom of Thailand from 13 to 17 March 2023. The delegates from Brunei Darussalam were led by Colonel (Dr) Haji Awang Mohd Hafizul bin Haji Awang Mohd Hassan, Chief Medical Officer, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
The guest of honour for the opening ceremony was His Excellency Air Chief Marshal Kongsak Chantarasopa, the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces. Over the course of the 5 days, the conference consisted of individual presentations by Young ASEAN Military Medical Officers (YAMMOs) relating to this year’s theme, “Next Innovation”, the Senior Officers’ Meeting on the “Direction of next round ACMMC”, and HOD Meeting on the topic of “Next Normal, Next ASEAN Military Medicine”. Multiple Bilateral Meetings were conducted between Brunei and some ASEAN member states to allow for discussions between countries. On the last day of the conference, the delegates were given the opportunity for cultural activities and to visit the ASEAN Center of Military Medicine (ACMM).
The ACMMC is held annually with each of the 10 ASEAN countries taking turns to be the host country. The conference serves as a platform for military medical officers to exchange knowledge and experiences in the field of Military Medicine either in crisis or in normal situations, and to help in strengthening the ties and cooperation between country members. The conference concluded with the handover Ceremony of ACMMC to Brunei Darussalam as host for 2024.
MESYUARAT PERSIDANGAN KETUA-KETUA PERUBATAN TENTERA ASEAN 2023 KALI KE-10 DI BANGKOK, THAILAND
BANGKOK, KERAJAAN THAILAND, Isnin, 13 Mac 2023 – Persidangan Ketua-Ketua Perubatan Tentera ASEAN (ACMM) yang ke-10 telah berlangsung pada 13 Mac hingga 17 Mac 2023 di Conrad Bangkok Hotel, Kerajaan Thailand. Delegasi dari Negara Brunei Darussalam diketuai oleh Kolonel (Dr) Haji Mohd Hafizul bin Haji Awang Mohd Hassan, Ketua Pegawai Perubatan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB).
Majlis pembukaan rasmi persidangan tersebut dihadiri oleh Tuan Yang Terutama Air Chief Marshal Kongsak Chantarasopa, Timbalan Ketua Turus Pertahanan, Angkatan Tentera Diraja Thailand sebagai tetamu kehormat. Sepanjang tempoh 5 hari, persidangan itu merangkumi pembentangan perseorangan Pegawai-Pegawai Perubatan Muda ASEAN (YAMMO) yang berkaitan dengan tema tahun ini- “Next Normal”, Mesyuarat Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan mengenai “Hala Tuju ACMMC pusingan seterusnya” dan Mesyuarat Ketua-Ketua Delegasi mengenai “Next Normal, Next ASEAN Military Medicine”. Mesyuarat Dua Hala diantara Brunei dengan beberapa ahli-ahli ASEAN telah diadakan bagi memberi peluang bagi perbincangan lanjut. Pada hari terakhir persidangan, para delegasi juga diberikan peluang untuk mengenali budaya Kerajaan Thailand serta melawat ASEAN Center of Military Medicine (ACMM).
Persidangan ACMM diadakan setiap tahun di mana setiap negara ASEAN akan mengambil giliran untuk menjadi negara tuan rumah. Persidangan ACMM menjadi platform bagi pegawai-pegawai perubatan tentera bertukar pengetahuan dan pengalaman mengenai perubatan tentera di masa krisis dan aman. Ianya juga membantu menguatkan hubungan yang erat serta kerjasama di antara negara-negara anggota. Persidangan berakhir dengan Majlis Penyerahan ACMMC kepada Negara Brunei Darussalam yang akan dikendalikan bagi tahun 2024.
