BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday 7 October 2016 – A thanksgiving prayer ceremony was held this afternoon to welcome the safe return of the 12th International Monitoring Team (IMT-12) in Mindanao, Philippines and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) peacekeepers following their deployment with the MALAYSIAN BATTALION 850-3 (MALBATT 850-3) of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Al-Quran followed by a mass Asar prayer, Dikir Marhaban and a thanksgiving prayer.
Present at the ceremony were the Acting Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit; Commander of the RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah; members of the Defence Executive Committee; Service Commanders, representative from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Directors, senior officers and personnel of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
The IMT-12 and the RBAF UNIFIL contingents safely returned on 16 September 2016 and on 6 October 2016 respectively.
MAJLIS DOA KESYUKURAN BAGI PASUKAN PENGAMAN IMT DAN UNIFIL
BOLKIAH GARISON, Jumaat 7 Oktober 2016 – Majlis Doa Kesyukuran telah diadakan di Surau Kementerian Pertahanan petang ini bagi menyambut kepulangan Pasukan Pemantau Antarabangsa Negara Brunei Darussalam ke 12 (IMT-12) di Mindanao, Republik Filipina dan anggota-anggota Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) yang mengikuti penugasan di bawah Malaysian Batalion 850-3 (MALBATT 850-3) dalam Pasukan Interim Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) di Lubnan (UNIFIL).
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran dan diikuti dengan sembahyang fardu Asar berjemaah, Dikir Marhaban serta Doa Kesyukuran.
Hadir di majlis tersebut ialah Pemangku Menteri Pertahanan, Laksamana Pertama (B) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit; Pemerintah ABDB, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah; Ahli-Ahli Jawatankuasa Eksekutif Pertahanan; Pemerintah-Pemerintah Angkatan Tentera, wakil dari Polis Diraja Brunei (PDB), Pengarah-Pengarah, Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan dan anggota-anggota Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB.
Kontinjen IMT-12 telah pulang dengan selamat pada 16 September 2016 dan kontinjen ABDB UNIFIL telah pulang pada 6 Oktober 2016.
