TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 25 January 2018 – A talk was held at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Defence Academy where Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito Bautista, Commanding General of the Philippine Army presented on the topic ‘Defeating the ISIS Threat in the Philippines’.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, RBAF Commander.
Also present were Services Commanders, senior officers and officers of the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF.
Officers from the Royal Brunei Police Force, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Prime Minister’s Office also attended the talk.
Lieutenant General Bautista was on a four-day introductory visit to Brunei Darussalam, following his appointment as the Commanding General of the Philippine Army in October 2017. During the talk, he shared his experience in leading the operations against militants in Marawi, Mindanao where he was then the Commander of the Joint Task Force Marawi. The presentation was followed by an active discussion during the question and answer session.
TAKLIMAT MENGENAI KONFLIK MARAWI OLEH PANGLIMA TENTERA DARAT REPUBLIK FILIPINA
TANAH JAMBU, Khamis, 25 Januari 2018 – Leftenan Jeneral Rolando Joselito Bautista, Panglima Tentera Darat Republik Filipina telah menyampaikan sebuah taklimat bertajuk ‘Defeating the ISIS Threat in the Philippines’ di Akademi Pertahanan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB).
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Pemerintah ABDB.
Turut hadir ialah Pemerintah-pemerintah Angkatan Tentera, pegawai-pegawai kanan dan pegawai-pegawai dari Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB.
Taklimat tersebut juga dihadiri oleh pegawai dari agensi-agensi kerajaan yang lain iaitu Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Dalam Negeri, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Luar Negeri dan Perdagangan, dan Jabatan Perdana Menteri.
Leftenan Jeneral Bautista mengadakan lawatan pengenalan selama empat hari ke Negara Brunei Darussalam berikutan perlantikan beliau sebagai Panglima Tentera Darat Republik Filipina pada Oktober 2017. Semasa taklimat tersebut, beliau berkongsi pengalaman dalam mengetuai Joint Task Force Marawi yang telah diwujudkan untuk membanteras militan di Marawi, Mindanao. Sesi soal jawab diadakan sejurus selepas taklimat tersebut.
