RIMBA, Wednesday 18 November 2015 – Special Forces Regiment (SFR) team emerged as the champion at the Royal Brunei Armed Force (RBAF) Swimming Championship 2015 with 9 golds and one silver.
The SFR team also defeated the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) by 2-1 at the Water Polo Championship.
A Combined Match of Ranks for Major above, Captain below, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and Junior Non-Commisioned Officers 4 x 50m was also competed where the Royal Brunei Land Force emerged as champion, followed by Special Forces Regiment in second place and Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF) came in third place.
The final event today was the 50 m individual event swimming competition where LCpl Zulazami bin Buah from SFR won as champion, whereas Bintara Haji Mohd Irwan bin Haji Tarip from Royal Brunei Navy took second place and Lkpl Yunos bin Haji Hamid from Ministry of Defence came in third place.
Prizes were presented to the winners by the guest of honour, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of RBAF.
The Royal Brunei Armed Force (RBAF) Swimming Championship 2015 began on 12 November 2015. Whereby the RBAF Water Polo Championship 2015 began on 13 until 18 November 2015.
Six teams competed in this year’s competition namely the Ministry of Defence team, RBLF team, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) team, RBAirF team, TI RBAF team and SFR team.
A total of eight Individual swimming events and 3 team events were competed this year including the Combined Match of Ranks.
