BOLKIAH GARRISON, Tuesday, 1 September 2020 – The 9th Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD) hosted by His Excellency Park Jae-min, Vice Minister of National Defense, Republic Korea was live-streamed online for the first time today.
The three-day online seminar is a multilateral security forum aiming to contribute to multilateral security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and facilitate the instillment of peace on the Korean Peninsula; and was live-streamed for viewing by defence officials across the globe.
The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS), Ministry of Defence, hosted the live-stream event for Brunei Darussalam’s defence officials.
It was attended by Deputy Permanent Secretaries of Ministry of Defence. It was also attended by Directors, Deputy Commandant of DA RBAF, senior officers and officers of the Ministry.
With the theme “Emerging Security Challenges: Overcoming through Solidarity and Cooperation”, the SDD 2020 emphasised the importance of solidarity and cooperation in facing the current crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic as the latest non-traditional security threat facing the defence and military sectors.
Featuring international renowned panelists, the forum focused on three sessions; Global Order and International Cooperation in the Age of COVID-19, Non-Traditional Security Threats: Implications for Defence and Korean Peninsula Peace Process: Achievements, Outlook, and Tasks.
SEOUL DEFENSE DIALOGUE (SDD) 2020 SEMINAR DALAM TALIAN

Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD) yang ke-9 yang dihoskan oleh Tuan Yang Terutama Park Jae-min,
Vice Minister of National Defense, Republik Korea telah diadakan secara dalam talian buat pertama kali pada hari ini.
Seminar tersebut yang akan berlangsung selama tiga hari adalah forum keselamatan berbagai-hala yang bertujuan untuk menyumbang kepada kerjasama keselamatan pelbagai hala di rantau Asia-Pasifik dan mempermudahkan proses perdamaian di Semenanjung Korea; dan disiarkan secara langsung untuk tontonan pegawai pertahanan di seluruh dunia.
Institut Pengajian Pertahanan dan Strategik Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (IPPSSHHB) telah menghoskan seminar secara langsung bagi pegawai-pegawai Kementerian Pertahanan.
Ianya telah dihadiri oleh Timbalan-timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pertahanan. Juga hadir ialah pengarah-pengarah, Timbalan Komandan AP, Pegawai-pegawai kanan dan pegawai-pegawai dari Kementerian Pertahanan.
Dengan tema ‘’Emerging Security Challenges: Overcoming through Solidarity and Cooperation’’, SDD tahun ini menekankan kepentingan perpaduan dan kerjasama dalam menangani krisis pandemik COVID-19 sebagai ancaman keselamatan bukan tradisional terkini yang dihadapi oleh sektor pertahanan dan tentera. Dengan penampilan beberapa panelis antarabangsa, forum ini menumpukan perhatiannya kepada tiga isu utama;
