HANOI, VIETNAM Saturday, 21 December 2019 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Second Minister of Defence is currently in Hanoi, Vietnam to attend the Commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the All-People Defence Day and the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) upon the invitation of His Excellency General Ngo Xuan Lich, Minister of National Defence, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
During his arrival on the 20 December 2019, Yang Berhormat Pehin attended a joint call on the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Nguyen Xuan Phuc, together with other invited Ministers of Defence from other countries at the Chancellery of Prime Minister. Yang Berhormat Pehin also attended a Commemoration Banquet hosted that night by the Minister of National Defence, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The highlight of the event was held today at the Ministry of Defence of Socialist Republic of Vietnam where all the dignitaries were accorded the Guard of Honour followed by a static display of the current capabilities of the Vietnam People’s Army. This was followed by addresses by His Excellency Nguyen Xuan Phuc and His Excellency General Ngo Xuan Lich and a performance entitled ‘Desire for Peace’.
Since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Some Defence Fields signed in November 2005, defence cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Vietnam has grown steadily through various interactions such as exchange of visits; regional military exercises; military and defence related regional meetings; workshops; trainings and courses.
MENTERI PERTAHANAN KEDUA DI SAMBUTAN ULANG TAHUN KE-30 ALL-PEOPLE DEFENCE DAY DAN ULANG TAHUN KE-75 PENUBUHAN TENTERA RAKYAT VIETNAM
HANOI, VIETNAM, Sabtu, 21 Disember 2019 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Menteri Pertahanan Kedua, kini berada di Hanoi, Sosialis Republik Vietnam bagi menghadiri sambutan Ulang Tahun ke-30 All-People Defence Day Vietnam dan Ulang Tahun ke-75 Penubuhan Tentera Rakyat Vietnam di atas jemputan Jeneral Ngo Xuan Lich, Menteri Pertahanan Republik Sosialis Vietnam.
Semasa ketibaan pada 20 Disember 2019, Yang Berhormat Pehin menghadiri kunjungan hormat bersama kepada Perdana Menteri Republik Sosialis Vietnam, Tuan Yang Terutama Nguyen Xuan Phuc, dengan Menteri-Menteri Pertahanan yang dijemput dari negara-negara lain di
Chancellery of Prime Minister. Yang Berhormat Pehin juga menghadiri majlis makan ‘Commemoration Banquet’ yang dianjurkan oleh Menteri Pertahanan Republik Sosialis Vietnam.
Aara kemuncak diadakan pada hari ini di Kementerian Pertahanan Republik Sosialis Vietnam, di mana para hadirin diberikan kawalan kehormatan, dan diikuti oleh lawatan ke pameran statik keupayaan Tentera Rakyat Vietnam. Seterusnya, ini diikuti oleh ucaptama oleh Tuan Yang Terutama Nguyen Xuan Phuc dan Tuan Yang Terutama Jeneral Ngo Xuan Lich, serta satu persembahan bertajuk ‘Desire for Peace’.
Sejak penandatanganan Memorandum Persefahaman on Cooperation in Some Defence Fields pada November 2005, kerjasama pertahanan antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Vietnam terus berkembang melalui pelbagai interaksi termasuk pertukaran lawatan, latihan ketenteraan, mesyuarat serantau, woksyop, latihan dan kursus.
