RIMBA, Thursday 5 March 2015 – TUDB recently hosted the Initial Planning Conference (IPC) for the Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) Malaysia Brunei (MALBRU) between Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei and Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM).
The conference was held at the Air Movement Centre, Rimba Air Base from 2 to 6 March 2015.
The IPC was co-chaired by Lt Col (U) Abd Rahman bin Haji Durahman, Commanding Officer Operations Wing, TUDB and Lt Col Abdul Halim bin Abu Hassan TUDM, Head of Operations MAWILUD 2, TUDM.
The main objective of the exercise is to enhance and strengthen the current working relationship between TUDB and TUDM through the efforts of integration and cooperation in the coordination of joint SAR, as well as sharing and exchange of SAR experience and knowledge whilst implementing procedures of interoperability.
SAREX MALBRU XI/2015 is scheduled to be held in October 2015 which will be hosted by TUDM at Labuan Air Base and the exercise itself will be held in the waters of Brunei and Labuan. SAREX MALBRU is held every two years and hosted on a rotation basis.
