PENANJONG GARRISON, Thursday, 25 January 2024 – The closing ceremony of Exercise MAJU BERSAMA Series 26/2023 was held today at the Fighting in Built-Up Areas Complex, Penanjong Garrison. The exercise was conducted from 20 to 25 January 2024 which involved troops from Third Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (3Bn RBLF) and First Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment (1SIR).
Present as the guests of honour were Brigadier General Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, Commander of RBLF and Major General David Neo, the Chief of Army of the Singapore Army, who officially closed the exercise. Also present to witness the ceremony were the Acting Field Commander RBLF, senior officers, officers, personnel, and representatives from both the Singapore Army and RBLF.
The closing ceremony commenced with the inspection of the parade, followed by the handing over of the flag to 1SIR. Brigadier General Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman and Major General David Neo then delivered the closing speeches.
In the Commander of RBLF’s speech, he emphasised that Exercise MAJU BERSAMA had provided both armies with the platform to share knowledge and experience in tactics, techniques, and procedures, covering operations in the jungle setting, riverine environment, and in built-up areas. This, he stated, further enhances the soldiering skills and professionalism of their soldiers that mutually benefitted both armies.
The exercise’s primary objectives were to enhance interoperability, share expertise in planning and urban warfare, and strengthen bilateral relations between Land Forces of both nations. Exercise MAJU BERSAMA serves as a symbol of enduring defence relations between the participating nations, promising to thrive and endure for years to come.
TENTERA DARAT DIRAJA BRUNEI DAN TENTERA DARAT SINGAPURA MENAMATKAN EKSESAIS MAJU BERSAMA 26/2023
PENANJONG GARISON, Khamis, 25 Januari 2024 – Upacara Penutup Eksesais MAJU BERSAMA Siri 26/2023 telah dilaksanakan di kompleks
Fighting in Built-Up Areas, Penanjong Garison. Eksesais tersebut telah berlangsung dari 20 hingga 25 Januari 2024 yang melibatkan anggota daripada Batalion Ketiga, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (3Bn TDDB) dan
First Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment (1SIR).
Hadir selaku Tetamu-Tetamu Kehormat adalah Brigedier Jeneral Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, Pemerintah TDDB dan Mejar Jeneral David Neo, Chief of Army,
Singapore Army, yang secara rasmi menutup eksesais tersebut. Turut hadir menyaksikan upacara tersebut ialah Pemangku Pemerintah Medan TDDB, pegawai-pegawai kanan, pegawai-pegawai, anggota-anggota dan wakil-wakil daripada Tentera Darat Singapura dan TDDB.
Upacara penutup dimulakan dengan pemeriksaan perbarisan, penyerahan balik bendera kepada 1SIR dan diakhiri dengan ucapan penutup dari Brigedier Jeneral Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman dan Mejar Jeneral David Neo.
Semasa menyampaikan ucapan beliau, Pemerintah TDDB menekankan bahawa Eksesais MAJU BERSAMA telah menyediakan landasan kepada kedua-dua tentera darat berkongsi pengetahuan dan kemahiran didalam pelaksanaan taktik, teknik dan prosedur terutama sekali operasi hutan, sungai dan bandar. Dengan sendirinya, usaha tersebut telah meningkatkan kemahiran dan profesionalisme diantara anggota-anggota kedua-dua tentera darat untuk manfaat bersama.
Objektif utama eksesais tersebut adalah untuk meningkatkan kesalingoperasian, berkongsi kepakaran dalam perancangan dan peperangan bandar, serta mengukuhkan hubungan dua hala antara Tentera Darat kedua-dua negara. Eksesais MAJU BERSAMA menjadi lambang hubungan pertahanan yang berkekalan antara negara peserta, yang akan berkembang dan kekal untuk tahun-tahun yang akan datang.
