BERAKAS GARRISON, Tuesday 26 July 2016 – The Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) held the first series of the Army To Army (A2AT) Meeting with the Malaysian Army at the Officers’ Mess in Berakas Garrison on 25 July 2016 until 28 July 2016.
The A2AT meeting was co-chaired by Colonel Hamed bin Awang Khairul Hj Lampoh, Commandant of Training Institute, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and Brigadier General Ya’cob bin Haji Samiran, Director General, Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters, Operation and Training Division.
The A2AT meeting was a follow-up and signing of an agreement of the A2AT Terms of Reference (ToR) implemented in 2015 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Both sides have examined the ToR and discussed bilateral activities for 2016 and 2017. In addition, the MALBRU planning exercise 2017 was also discussed where the Exercise Planning Conference (EPC) is scheduled to be held in May 2017.
The main purpose of the A2AT meeting was to strengthen the friendly relations between the two armed forces and to realize the plans, courses and exercises particularly for the continuous development and ongoing efforts of the two armies. Subsequently this initiative aims to improve defence diplomacy between the two countries.

ARMY TO ARMY TALK (A2AT)
Berakas Garison, 26 Julai 2016 – Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah mengadakan Mesyuarat Army To Army Talk (A2AT) bagi siri pertama tahun 2016 bersama Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) yang berlangsung di Mes Pegawai Berakas Garison pada 25 Julai 2016 hingga 28 Julai 2016.
Mesyuarat tersebut telah dipengerusikan bersama oleh Kolonel Awang Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampoh, Komandan Institut Latihan, Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (IL ABDB) dan Brigedier Jeneral Ya’cob bin Haji Samiran, Ketua Pengarah, Markas Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM), Cawangan Operasi Dan Latihan (OPLAT).
Mesyuarat A2AT ini merupakan susulan dan kesepakatan daripada penandatanganan Terms of Reference (ToR) A2AT yang telah dilaksanakan pada tahun 2015 di Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Kedua belah pihak telah meneliti ToR dan membincangkan perancangan aktiviti dua hala bagi tahun 2016 dan 2017. Selain itu juga, perancangan Eksesais MALBRU 2017 turut dibincangkan dimana Persidangan Perancangan Eksesais (Exercise Planning Conference – EPC) telah dicadangakan pada bulan Mei 2017.
Tujuan utama mesyuarat A2AT ini adalah bagi mengeratkan perhubungan persahabatan di antara kedua-dua pihak angkatan tentera dan juga untuk merealisasikan perancangan, kursus serta eksesais khusus bagi perkembangan dan usaha berterusan kedua buah tentera darat. Pada masa yang sama, inisiatif ini bertujuan untuk mempertingkatkan lagi diplomasi pertahanan di antara kedua buah negara.
