RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Wednesday 24 February 2016 – The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAir) received the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) aerobatic team, the Black Eagles at the Rimba Air Force Base today for a planned refueling after they successfully performed aerobatic displays at the Singapore Airshow 2016 recently.
The ROKAF Black Eagles teams that landed in the Sultanate comprises of five Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) T-50B supersonic trainer jets, a spare aircraft while one C-130 support aircraft flew in advance yesterday.
The ROKAF Black Eagles’ transit from the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam gave the RBAirF the opportunity to hold an informal meet and greet session at the Air Movement Centre (AMC).
The meet and greet which was hosted by Col (U) Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Commander Operations Group (COG), RBAirF aimed to provide opportunity for personnel from ROKAF and RBAirF to share experiences and strengthen ties between the two Air Forces. The RBAirF also coordinated security arrangements, customs and immigration clearances and offered the AMC as a venue for recuperation and pre-flight briefings.
The ROKAF Black Eagles had previously transited at Rimba Air Base on 9-10 February 2016 from the Republic of Korea en-route to the Singapore Airshow 2016.
