SERASA, Sunday, 11 November 2018 – The Royal Brunei Yacht Club (RBYC) held a two-day Regatta 2018 competition at the RBYC, Serasa Beach where 7 personel from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) participated in the competition this year. The competition was also contested by members of the Sarawak SUKMA Team and members of the RBYC.
Three categories were contested during the event which were the Open Mix Category, Optimist Category and Pico Category. All of the personnel from RBN competed in the Open Mix Category. The Open Mix Category is open for different type of laser sail such as the Laser 4.7, Radial, Standard, Int 420 and Hobie Cat. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Junior Grade Mohamad Amirul Azwan bin Hj Dullah, RBN won the RBAF award for the Open Mix Category.
The RBYC Regatta Competition is an annual event held by RBYC to test the skills of local and foreign sailors. The competition also gives new exposure to new participants on how laser sailing competition is a water sport that requires basic seamanship skills to complete the event. The next RBYC Regatta Competition will be held in April 2019.
ANGGOTA TLDB MENYERTAI PERTANDINGAN REGATA RBYC 2018
SERASA, Ahad, 11 November 2018 – Royal Brunei Yacht Club (RBYC) telah menganjurkan pertandingan regata bagi tahun 2018 di RBYC, Pantai Serasa dimana 7 peserta daripada Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei mengikuti pertandingan tersebut pada tahun ini. Pertandingan itu turut disertai daripada Kontingen SUKMA Sawarak dan ahli-ahli daripada RBYC.
Bagi pertandingan tersebut, terdapat tiga kategori ditandingkan iaitu Kategori Campuran Terbuka, Kategori Optimis dan Kategori Pico. Kesemua Peserta TLDB telah menyertai Kategori Campuran Terbuka. Kategori Campuran Terbuka dibukakan untuk pelbagai jenis layer seperti Laser 4.7, Radial, Standard, Int 420 dan Hobie Cat. Leftenan Madya Mohamad Amirul Azwan bin Hj Dullah, TLDB telah memenangi kategori terbaik ABDB bagi Kategori Campuran Terbuka.
Perlawanan Regata RBYC adalah acara tahunan yang dianjurkan oleh RBYC untuk menguji kemahiran kelasi orang tempatan kita dan juga orang luar yang berminat. Perlawanan itu juga memberikan peluang bagi peserta baru dalam pertandingan tersebut dimana kemahiran anak kapal sangatlah penting bagi menyertai perlawanan tersebut. Perlawanan Regata akan dianjurkan lagi oleh RBYC pada bulan April 2019.
