JAKARTA, Thursday, 11 February 2016 – First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad, the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was in Jakarta from 10 – 12 February 2016 for a three day working visit at the invitation from Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy.
The Commander of RBN made three separate calls to Indonesian Minister of Defence His Excellency General TNI (Purn) Ryamizad Ryacudu, Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces, His Excellency General TNI Gatot Nurmantyo, and Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Ade Supandi throughout the visit.
Upon arrival at the Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, the Commander of RBN was received by the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy and had the opportunity to inspect the Guard of Honour before proceeding to the Courtesy Call.
During the courtesy call to the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, both Commanders underlined the close relationship built on strong defence ties between the two navies. The Commander of RBN also had the opportunity to exchange views and opinions during the discussions. Parts of his discussions included training and exercises; both bilateral and multilateral exercises involving the two navies.
The cooperation between both navies will be reinforced with joint training activities and professional exchanges that will strengthen the level of professionalism, relationship and proficiency.
