PUCKAPUNYAL, AUSTRALIA, Thursday, 10 May 2018 – Hosted annually by the Australian Army, the 12th Australian Army Skill At Arms Meet 2018 (AASAM 2018) was held from 16 April to 10 May at the Combined Arms Training Centre (CATC), Puckapunyal Camp. This year saw to a participation of 18 countries.
The Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) Shooting Team, consisting of 14 personnel, participated in three categories namely the General-Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), Pistol, and Rifle. The RBLF team won a total of 3 medals in the competition.
Lance Corporal Mohd Erwan bin Mohd Hilmi bagged the silver medal in the GPMG Match 41, while Lance Corporal Eddy Kasuma bin Awg Omar won a bronze medal in Pistol Match 35. The top shooter medal within the Bruneian Contingent was awarded to Corporal Md Noor bin Hj Nordin. The medals were presented by Brigadier General Simon Welsh, AM, Director General Integrated Soldier Systems Branch.
Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD) emerged as the Champion of 12th AASAM, followed by the Australian Army and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in the second and third place respectively.
AASAM is a shooting competition participated by armies all over the world. Participating armies compete to showcase their marksmanship skills against one another. It also acts as a platform in bolstering professional interactions, social bonds and comradeship, as well as encourages healthy competition.

TDDB MENGUTIP TIGA PINGAT DI KEJOHANAN MENEMBAK AASAM KE-12
PUCKAPUNYAL, AUSTRALIA, Khamis, 10 Mei 2018 – Diadakan setiap tahun oleh Tentera Darat Australia, Kejohanan Menembak Australian Army Skill At Arms Meet 2018 (AASAM 2018) kali ke-12 bermula pada 16 April hingga 10 Mei bertempat di
Combined Arms Training Centre (CATC), Kem Puckapunyal. Seramai 18 buah negara telah menyertai kejohanan tersebut pada tahun ini.
Pasukan Penembak Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) yang terdiri daripada 14 anggota telah menyertai tiga kategori perlawanan iaitu
General-Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG),
Pistol dan juga Rifle. Pasukan TDDB telah memenangi sebanyak 3 pingat dalam pertandingan tersebut.
Lans Korporal Mohd Erwan bin Mohd Hilmi telah mengutip pingat perak bagi perlawanan 41
GPMG, manakala perlawanan Pistol 35 berjaya meraih pingat gangsa oleh Lans Korporal Eddy Kasuma bin Awg Omar. Penembak terbaik bagi Pasukan TDDB telah diberikan kepada Korporal Md Noor bin Hj Nordin. Acara penyampaianhadiah tersebut telah disampaikan oleh Brigedier Jeneral Simon Welsh, AM,
Director General Integrated Soldier Systems Branch.

AASAM kali ke-12 dan naib juara dimenangi oleh Tentera Darat Australia manakala tempat ketiga dari Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.
AASAM merupakan acara kejohanan menembak yang disertai oleh tentera darat di seluruh dunia. Tentera darat yang menyertai pertandingan ini bersaing untuk mempamerkan kemahiran menembak mereka masing-masing. Malah kejohanan itu juga merupakan platform dalam meningkatkan interaksi profesional, tali persahabatan, serta menggalakkan suasana perlawanan yang sihat.
