BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday, 22 March 2018 – The Royal Brunei Land Force emerged as champion in the Royal Brunei Armed Force (RBAF) Female Orienteering Competition held at the Jerudong Sport Complex today by collecting 1270 points.
The first runner-up position went to Royal Brunei Air Force with 1245 points while Training Institute RBAF came in third place with 1240 points.
The competition includes two main categories which are team events and individual events. There were five participating teams in total, which were the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) and the Ministry of Defence.
In the Individual categories, the category for those aged 40 years old and above was won by 616 Commander Surianawati binti Haji Abdul Samad, RBN. Meanwhile, 565 Major Dk Sri Rohayou binti Pg Matarsat (MINDEF), 1032 Lieutenant Dya Nurul Hairani binti Abd Hamid, RBN and 21481 Corporal (U) Norhafilah binti Hj Bagol (RBAirF) won the categories for 35 to 39 years old, 30 to 34 years old and 29 years old and below respectively.
The orienteering competition is aimed to test their map reading skills as well as their mental and physical endurance. In this competition, the participants were tasked to find allocated check points within a given time period.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Lieutenant Colonel Norsuriati binti Haji Sarbini whom awarded the winners with prizes. Also present were senior officers and other RBAF personnel.
TDDB JUARA PERLAWANAN MERINTIS WANITA PERINGKAT ABDB 2017/2018
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Khamis, 22 Mac 2018 – Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) muncul juara di perlawanan merintis wanita peringkat Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) bertempat di Komplex Sukan Jerudong hari ini dengan mengumpul sebanyak 1270 mata.
Naib johan dimenangi oleh Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) dengan 1245 mata manakala Institut Latihan ABDB (IL ABDB) jatuh di tempat ketiga dengan mengumpul 1240 mata.
Perlawanan ini termasuk dua kategori utama iaitu acara berpasukan dan acara individu. Pasukan yang ikut serta terdiri dari Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB), Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB), Institut Latihan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (IL ABDB) dan Kementerian Pertahanan.
Bagi kategori individu, Kategori 40 tahun ke atas dimenangi oleh 616 Komander Surianawati binti Haji Abdul Samad, TLDB. Sementara 565 Mejar Dk Sri Rohayou binti Pg Matarsat memenangi bagi kategori 35 ke 39 tahun; 1032 Leftenan Dya Nurul Hairani binti Abd Hamid, TLDB bagi Kategori 30 ke 34 tahun dan 21481 Kopral (U) Norhafilah binti Hj Bagol (TUDB) bagi Kategori 29 tahun kebawah.
Perlawanan merintis ini adalah bertujuan untuk menguji kemahiran membaca peta mereka dan pada masa yang sama menguji ketahanan mental dan fizikal mereka. Di dalam perlawanan ini, peserta-peserta diberikan masa yang terhad untuk mencari ‘check points’ yang telah ditetapkan.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat untuk menyampaikan hadiah ialah Leftenan Colonel Norsuriati binti Haji Sarbini. Turut hadir ialah pegawai-pegawai kanan dan anggota-anggota ABDB.
