HANOI, Thursday, 10 November 2022 – Yang Mulia Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Saifulrizal bin Abdul Latif, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), attended the 23rd ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (23rd ACAMM) in the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
The meeting was officiated by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army (VPA), as the chairman of the 23rd ACAMM.
With this year’s meeting theme “ASEAN Armies Cohesively Cooperate for Peace”, the Chiefs of Armies and representatives exchanged views on the importance of physically reengaging after recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting then proceeded with the handover ceremony for the chairmanship of the 24th ACAMM to the Kingdom of Thailand, followed by a closing speech by General Narongpan Jittkaewtae, Commander-In-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, as the Chairman of the 24th ACAMM in 2023.
The Commander of RBLF also had a joint courtesy call to His Excellency General Phan Văn Giang, Minister of Defence of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, at the Ministry of National Defence Headquarters. The Commander of RBLF also had the opportunity to conduct bilateral meetings with all respective ASEAN Chiefs of Army and their representatives.
Held concurrently with the 23rd ACAMM was the 12th ASEAN Sergeant Major Annual Meeting (12th ASMAM) chaired by Senior Colonel Nguyen Le Phuong, Deputy Director of the Institute for Defence International Relations, with a theme “Contribution of NCOs to military response to non-traditional security challenges”. The meeting was attended by Warrant Officer 1 Kifley bin Haji Johari, Land Force Sergeant Major.
The Kingdom of Thailand will host the 31st ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM), the 24th ACAMM and the 13th ASMAM in 2023.

HANOI, Khamis, 10 November 2022 – Yang Mulia Brigedier Jeneral Dato Seri Pahlawan Saifulrizal bin Abdul Latif, Pemerintah Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah menghadiri Mesyuarat ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting yang ke-23 (ACAMM yang ke-23) bertempat di Republik Sosialis Viet Nam.
Mesyuarat tersebut dirasmikan oleh Leftenan Jeneral Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army (VPA), Republik Sosialis Vietnam selaku pengerusi ACAMM yang ke-23.
Dengan tema “ASEAN Armies Cohesively Cooperate for Peace”, Ketua Delegasi Tentera Darat ASEAN dan wakil-wakil telah bertukar pandangan mengenai kepentingan berinteraksi secara fizikal selepas pulih daripada pandemik COVID-19. Mesyuarat diteruskan dengan upacara penyerahan pengerusi mesyuarat ACAMM yang ke-24 serta ucapan penutup daripada General Narongpan Jittkaewtae, Commander-In-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, selaku pengerusi ACAMM yang ke-24.
Pemerintah TDDB juga telah membuat kunjungan hormat secara berkumpulan kepada Tuan Yang Terutama Jeneral Phan Văn Giang, Menteri Pertahanan Sosialis Republik Vietnam, di Kementerian Pertahanan. Pemerintah TDDB juga berkesempatan untuk membuat perjumpaan dua hala dengan semua Ketua Delegasi Tentera Darat ASEAN serta wakil.
Diadakan serentak dengan ACAMM yang ke-23 ialah mesyuarat ASEAN Sergeant Majors Annual Meeting (ASMAM) yang ke-12 yang dipengerusikan oleh Senior Colonel Nguyen Le Phuong, Deputy Director of the Institute for Defence International Relations bertemakan “Contribution of NCOs to military response to non-traditional security challenges”. Mesyuarat tersebut telah dihadiri oleh Pegawai Waran 1 Kifley bin Haji Johari, Sarjan Mejar Tentera Darat.
Kerajaan Thailand akan menjadi tuan rumah bagi ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) yang ke-31, ACAMM yang ke-24 dan ASMAM yang ke-13 pada November 2023.
