LEBANON, Wednesday, 5 September 2018 - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Contingent MALBATT 850-5 operating under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Peacekeeping Mission extended in-kind donation of school supplies to the Jibal Al Butm Public School under the Civilian Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Programme on behalf of the Ministry of Defence of Brunei Darussalam.
The donation includes two interactive smartboards, four LCD projectors and also tables and chairs for the students which were delivered by the RBAF Head of Contingent, Maj Khairul Azme bin Hj Mohidin to the principal of the school, Mr Ali Khalid. The Mayor of Jibal Al Butm, Hj Hassan Aydiby, was also present during the ceremony.
The ceremony commenced with a speech from both the school principal and RBAF Head of Contingent (Contico) and proceeded with a smartboard demonstration.
The aim of conducting the CIMIC programme by the RBAF is to maintain good relations and cooperation between the military forces and the surrounding civil communities, as well as to contribute to the improvement of education in the local society.
KONTINJEN UNIFIL ABDB MALBATT 850-5 MENYUMBANG KEPADA SEKOLAH AWAM DI JIBAL AL BUTM
LUBNAN, Rabu, 5 September 2018 – Kontinjen Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) yang bernaung dibawah MALBATT 850-5 misi pengaman United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) telah membuat sumbangan berupa alat kelengkapan sekolah kepada Sekolah Jibal Al Butm Selatan Lubnan di bawah program ‘Civilian Military Cooperation’ (CIMIC) Malbatt 850-5 bagi mewakili Kementerian Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Sumbangan berupa dua buah ‘interactive smartboard’, empat LCD projectors dan beberapa peralatan kerusi dan meja yang disampaikan oleh Ketua Kontinjen ABDB Malbatt 850-5 Mej Khairul Azme bin Hj Mohidin kepada Pengetua Sekolah, Mr. Ali Khalid. Turut hadir bagi majlis tersebut adalah Mayor Jibal Al Butm Hj Hassan Aydiby.
Majlis dimulakan dengan ucapan alu-aluan dari pengetua sekolah dan seterusnya ucapan daripada Ketua Kontinjen ABDB dan pelancaran demonstrasi
smartboard.
Tujuan program CIMIC anjuran ABDB ini adalah bagi mengeratkan hubungan silaturahim di antara pasukan tentera dengan penduduk kampong dan mempertingkatkan tahap pendidikan kepada penduduk kampong.
