BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Friday 14 November 2014 – The football team of Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) held a thanksgiving ceremony for their achievement in the DST Super League 2014 at Badi’ah Hotel. The team came second this year with 39 points.
They won 12 times, drew in three games and lost one. The team recorded an outstanding achievement and received the Best Fair Play Team title and Overall Best Player was won by Sld (U) Mazazizi bin Mazlan.
The guest of honour at the event was Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Wardi bin Haji Abd Latip, the patron of the MS ABDB.
The guest of honour in his speech said that one of the components to upgrade a team is good and effective training. MS ABDB has sent two coaches recently to attend Class C Coach Course recognised by Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and organised by National Football Association Brunei Darussalam (NFABD).
With such courses, it is hoped that the coaches could educate and train the players to produce better results.
The ceremony continued with the handing over of wheelchairs from the MS ABDB team to Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Hj Abd Wahab on behalf of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam and to Major (Rtd) Haji Karim bin Sapar on behalf of former ABDB personnel.
