BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday, 16 February 2026 – Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), today received a courtesy call from His Excellency Shri Ramu Abbagani, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Brunei Darussalam. Also in attendance was the Director of Intelligence, Ministry of Defence.
During the courtesy call, the RBAF Commander reaffirmed the strong defence relation between the RBAF and the Indian Armed Forces. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the result of the inaugural Joint Working Group on Defence Cooperation (JDWC) Meeting, which took place in New Delhi in early December last year. Building upon the existing Memorandum of Understanding, both parties hoped that the JDWC would enhance bilateral defence cooperation through initiatives such as exchanges, information sharing, training programs, joint exercises, and collaborative projects within the defence industry.
His Excellency Shri Ramu Abbagani has served as the High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Brunei Darussalam since July 2025.
PEMERINTAH ABDB MENERIMA KUNJUNGAN HORMAT DARIPADA PESURUHJAYA TINGGI REPUBLIK INDIA KE NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM
BOLKIAH GARISON, Isnin, 16 Februari 2026 – Yang Mulia Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB), hari ini menerima kunjungan hormat daripada Tuan Yang Terutama Shri Ramu Abbagani, Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Republik India ke Negara Brunei Darussalam. Turut hadir ialah Pengarah Perisikan, Kementerian Pertahanan.
Semasa kunjungan hormat tersebut, Pemerintah ABDB mengesahkan hubungan pertahanan yang kukuh antara ABDB dan Angkatan Tentera India. Kedua-dua pihak juga melahirkan rasa puas hati dengan hasil julung kalinya Mesyuarat Kumpulan Kerja Bersama mengenai Kerjasama Pertahanan (JDWC), yang telah berlangsung di New Delhi pada awal Disember tahun lalu. Berdasarkan Memorandum Persefahaman sedia ada, kedua-dua pihak berharap agar JDWC akan dapat meningkatkan kerjasama pertahanan dua hala melalui inisiatif seperti pertukaran, perkongsian maklumat, program latihan, latihan bersama, dan projek kerjasama dalam industri pertahanan.
Tuan Yang Terutama Shri Ramu Abbagani telah berkhidmat sebagai Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Republik India ke Negara Brunei Darussalam sejak Julai 2025.
