HONOLULU, HAWAII, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 – Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) attended the 18th Annual Chiefs of Defense (CHOD) Conference 2015 in Hawaii to discuss regional peace and security.
Twenty-six Chiefs of Defence and representatives from the Asia-Pacific region attended the 18th CHOD Conference hosted by the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) at the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki from 28th to 30th September 2015.
The theme for this year’s CHOD Conference was “Addressing Shared Security Challenges and Ensuring Access to the Global Commons.” Part of the conference agenda included working lunches where invited Guest Speakers presented their respective subjects related to the conference theme, along with plenary sessions for CHODs to discuss on the subjects that were presented.
The Commander of the USPACOM also invited all CHODs for a welcoming reception at his home on the first day, and the conference ended on the final day with a Farewell Dinner at the USPACOM headquarters.
During the conference, RBAF Commander also held bilateral courtesy calls with his counterparts to discuss on the warm bilateral ties between Brunei Darussalam and the respective countries, as well as future initiatives to further strengthen the professional relationship and personal friendship between the armed forces and countries in general.
