RIMBA AIR BASE, Wednesday 12 October 2016 – The Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) were victorious with the most medals to win the RBAF Athletics and Tug-of-War Championship 2016 that drew to a close today after three days of competition from 10 to 12 October at the Royal Brunei Air Force Sports Complex.
The RBLF attained 26 medals: 11 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze and edged the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) into second place followed by in third the Training Institute of RBAF, in fourth the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) in fifth.
The RBLF’s tug-of-war team also emerged as the winner after they overcame the MINDEF’s team in the final. Special invitations were also extended to the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports and the Sports School to compete in the 4 x 100 metres race.
Present to give away the championship trophy and prizes was the Commander of the RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Bin Abdullah. Also present were the Service Commanders, Commandants and Military Directors.
KEJOHANAN OLAHRAGA & TARIK KALAT ABDB 2016
PANGKALAN RIMBA, Rabu 12 Oktober 2016 – Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah berjaya meraih keseluruhan pungutan pingat untuk menjuarai Kejohanan Olahraga & Tarik Kalat ABDB 2016 yang telah berakhir hari ini selepas beraksi selama tiga hari daripada 10 hingga 12 Oktober 2016 di Kompleks Sukan Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei, Pangkalan Rimba.
TDDB telah memperolehi sebanyak 26 pingat: 11 emas, 7 perak dan 8 gangsa dan menempatkan Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) di tempat kedua diikuti dengan Institut Latihan ABDB (IL ABDB) ditempat ketiga, tempat keempat oleh Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) dan Kementerian Pertahanan ditemapt kelima.
Pasukan Tarik kalat TDDB juga muncul juara selepas menewaskan pasukan Kementerian Pertahanan dalam pertandingan akhir Kejohanan Tarik Kalat ABDB. Jemputan khas juga dibukakan kepada pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, Kementerian Kebudayaan Belia dan Sukan dan Sekolah Sukan untuk bertanding dalam acara berlari 4×100 meter berganti-ganti.
Trofi dan hadiah-hadiah telah disampaikan oleh Pemerintah ABDB Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Bin Abdullah. Turut hadir ialah Pemerintah-Pemerintah Angkatan Tentera, Komandan-Komandan dan Pengarah-Pengarah Tentera.
