BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Saturday 27 February 2016 – The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Brunei Darussalam, Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binti Haji Umar, received a courtesy call from Major General Onesy Senesouk, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of National Defense, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR),
During the call, both sides discussed preparations for the upcoming ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADSOM) and the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) in Laos. Both sides expressed satisfaction towards the ADMM’s progress as a platform for engagement so as to promote practical cooperation and to build mutual understanding.
Major General Onesy Senesouk’s visit to Brunei Darussalam was part of a working visit to all ASEAN Member States to formally extend the invitation to the 10th ADMM which will be scheduled for 24 – 27 May 2016, Vientiane, Lao PDR. Both Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah and Major General Onesy Senesouk are the current ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADSOM) Leaders for Brunei Darussalam and Lao PDR respectively.
