PENANJONG GARRISON, Friday 9 January 2015 – A total of 136 male recruits of the 152nd intake have concluded their Basic Military Training (BMT) at the Parade Square of the Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) in Penanjong Garrison.
The male recruits underwent a 25 weeks long basic military training.
The Guest of Honour receiving the General Salute for the Passing Out Parade ceremony was Dato Paduka Dr. Haji Affendy bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs.
In his remarks, apart from their primary duties in safeguarding the country’s peace and security, personnel of the RBAF are also obliged to assist members of the public by looking after their welfare. The military have proven their service and readiness to serve the public by cooperating with other government agencies in helping victims of natural disasters such as floods and landslides. The assistance is in the form of military personnel and logistics requirements.
He lauded the Armed Forces for their care and attention in looking after the welfare of the society. Part of their community-based projects is the Titian Amal which brings the Armed Forces and the community closer.
Also in attendance at the ceremony was Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Service Commanders, Commandants, Directors, Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks of RBAF as well as parents, family members, and relatives of the recruits.
During the ceremony, the guest of honour inspected the parade, delivered a speech and presented awards to excellent instructor and recruits.
Best Male Instructor awarded to 15790 Cpl Aidey Earny bin Kasni, won the Best Overall Recruit 50898 Rec Rusydi bin Rosli, with Best in M16A2 Rifle 50937 Rec Mohd Norazmi bin Mohammad, with Best in Heavy Barrel Automatic Rifle (HBAR) 50977 Rec Mohd Rafiulhazmi bin Hamdan, with Best in Physical Training 50987 Rec Mohd Jazli bin Ahmad and 50873 Rec (L) Mohd Hafiz bin Bakri with Best Academic Knowledge.
