PENANJONG GARRISON, Friday 13 Dec 2013 – A total of 172 male recruits of the 149th intake have concluded their basic military training at the Parade Square of the Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) in Penanjong Garison. The male recruits underwent a 25 weeks long basic military training.
The Guest of Honour receiving the General Salute for the Passing Out Parade ceremony was Colonel (Rtd) Pg Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham bin Pg Haji Mohamad, Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) Ministry of Defence.
Also in attendance at the ceremony was Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Abidin, Deputy Commander of RBAF, Service Commanders, Commandants, Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks of RBAF as well as parents, family members and relatives of the recruits.
During the ceremony, Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham inspected the parade, delivered a speech and presented awards to excellent instructor and recruits. In his speech, he urged the new military personnel to maintain high level of discipline and uphold the laws and regulations of RBAF specifically, and Brunei Darussalam generally, as well as maintain good personality and patience in whatever situation.
Best Platoon Sergeant is awarded to 14470 Sgt Hairullah bin Metassim, Best Male Instructor awarded to 16700 Cpl Md Azrin bin Hj Masir, 50532 Rec Abdul Salihin bin Haji Abd Latip won the Best Overall Recruit, 50509 Rec Abdul Rahman bin Zulkefli with Best in M16A2 Rifle, 50545 Rec Mohd Al-Amin bin Manab with Best in in Heavy Barrel Automatic Rifle (HBAR), 50511 Rec Mohammad Nasruddin bin Awang Morshidi with Best in Physical Training and 50503 Rec Khairul Syukri Aimullah bin Jaffary with Best Academic Knowledge.
