BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 19 March 2015 – The Operational Effectiveness Workshop 2015 was held yesterday at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDS), Bolkiah Garison.

Present at the workshop was the Joint Force Commander (JFC), Colonel (U) Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat and Emeritus Professor Stewart Woodman (Emeritus Professor of Politics School Humanities and Social Sciences) who was the supervisor for the workshop as well senior officers from respective services.

This workshop provide the opportunity to:

a.  Review progress with the introduction of those arrangements.

b. Identify the strengths and any limitations in the planning and operational     interfaces between joint and single service operations.

c. Assess the effectiveness of current arrangements for both national and regional     coordination, including clarity of responsibilities, tasking and command and control.

d.  Review overall force readiness and preparedness, deployability and sustainability     against current and prospective RBAF operational roles.

The workshop poses an important platform for Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) to exchange ideas and shared views on few scenarios in current operations and SWOT analysis to boost operational effectiveness for RBAF in the future.
