PENANJONG GARRISON, Monday 21 Oct 2013 – The opening ceremony of the inaugural Finance Officers Course was held today at the School of Military Trade, Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF).
The guest of honour to officiate the inaugural ceremony was Lieutenant Colonel Hasmee bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Commandant of TI RBAF.
Also present were Major Hajah Asnah bin Haji Matamit, Staff Officer 1 Finance, Major Muhd Suradzin bin Haji Muhd Yusof, Officer Commanding of School of Military Trade TI RBAF and course participants.
The course is aimed to give recognition, broaden the knowledge and skills; and to qualify as Finance Officers. Upon completion of the course, these officers will have the credibility to carry out tasks and responsibilities as per outlined in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Procedural Manual. The concept of these course is adapted from Regimental Administrative Officers (RAO) Course, Worthy Down, Winchester United Kingdom and Basic Manpower Course, Singapore.
The 7-weeks course is divided into 2 phases. The first phase is based on Public Fund syllabus – The Provision of Pay and Allowances whereas Phase 2 is on Non-Public Fund syllabus – Regimental Accounts. The Finance Officers Course is opened to Finance/Pay Officers as well as Administrative Officers of ranks Captain to Second Lieutenant.
The introduction of the course has created another milestone in TI RBAF’s history and RBAF in general as the first ever course conducted locally. The course was originally conducted overseas namely in the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Singapore.
MAJLIS PEMBUKAAN KURSUS PEGAWAI KEWANGAN YANG PERTAMA TAHUN 2013

Pembukaan Kursus Pegawai Kewangan yang pertama bagi tahun 2013 telah
diadakan di Sekolah Pertukangan Tentera, Institut Latihan Angkatan
Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (IL ABDB).
Majlis
telah dirasmikan oleh Leftenan Kolonel Hasmee bin Haji Abdul
Wahab, Komandan IL ABDB yang juga selaku Tetamu Kehormat. Turut hadir ialah Mejar Hajah Asnah bin
Haji Matamit, Pegawai Turus Kewangan, Mejar Muhd Suradzin bin Haji Muhd
Yusof, Pegawai Memerintah Sekolah Pertukangan Tentera dan juga para
peserta kursus.
Kursus Pegawai
Kewangan ini bertujuan untuk melayakkan dan membuat pengiktirafan
sebagai Pegawai Kewangan yang mana setelah lulus nanti pegawai-pegawai
ini akan mempunyai kredibiliti dan menguasai kebolehan untuk menjalankan
tugas dan tanggungjawab seperti yang dinyatakan di dalam Royal Brunei
Armed Forces Procedural Manual. Kursus ini diiktiraf seperti Regimental
Administrative Officers (RAO) Course, Worthy Down, Winchester United
Kingdom dan Basic Manpower Course, Singapore.
Ianya dikendalikan selama
7 minggu dan dibahagikan kepada 2 fasa. Fasa Pertama menjurus kepada
sukatan pelajaran Public Fund, The Provision of Pay and Allowances dan
Fasa Kedua ialah sukatan pelajaran Non-Public Fund iaitu Regimental
Account. Kursus seumpama ini dibukakan kepada Pegawai Gaji/Kewangan dan
juga boleh dihadiri oleh Pegawai Tadbir yang berpangkat Kapten ke
Leftenan Muda.
Kursus Pegawai Kewangan
yang pertama ini secara tidak langsung melakarkan sejarah IL ABDB
khasnya dan secara umumnya kepada ABDB. Ianya satu kursus yang baru
dikenalkan di dalam ABDB yang mana sebelumnya pegawai-pegawai kewangan
telah menghadiri kursus ini di luar negara seperti di United Kingdom,
Malaysia dan Singapura.
