TEMBURONG,
2 September 2016 – 12 officer cadets of the RBAF joined their cadres from the Officer Cadet School of the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) in the Exercise KEPIMPINAN held in the Temburong District. The exercise began on 24 August 2016 and lasted for nine days. This year’s exercise saw an increase in the number of NZDF participants to 50 from just 40 in 2015.
Exercise KEPIMPINAN is an exercise designed by both Armed Forces’ Officer Cadet Schools aiming to develop leadership skills; to test the cadets’ ability to command in challenging circumstances; and for the NZDF, to exercise international deployment mobilisation; and deployments into tropical jungle warfare training areas.
The Exercise provides an excellent platform for the cadets from both sides to enhance interoperability in joint tactical activities with extra benefits of sharing ideas and learning each other’s culture. It undoubtedly continues to underscore the significant cooperation and good state of relations between Brunei Darussalam and New Zealand.
