TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 24 January 2020 – In conjunction with the Sovereign’s Parade of Intake 18, Officer Cadet School, the Newly Commissioned Officers hosted a regimental graduation dinner night at the Ceremonial Hall, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence. Also present was Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, RBAF Commander, Services Commanders, Joint Force Commander, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary, Commandant of the Defence Academy, Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet School, Senior Officers, Officers and Newly Commissioned Officers.
The Second Minister of Defence was welcomed by the Newly Commissioned Officers of Intake 18 and the respective guests before taking a group photograph, followed by dinner which proceeded with a symphonic diversion by the RBAF band.
As part of the Regimental Dinner Night tradition, 1353 Lieutenant (U) Wan Mohd Hijazi bin Haji Yussof, the Sword of Honour recipient, gave a speech where he reflected on everyone’s challenges throughout their trainings in OCS and highlighted a statement imparted by the RBAF Commander during a sharing session recently, “It doesn’t make a difference what your reason was for coming here, what makes a difference more is your reason for staying”.
As a token of appreciation, the Newly Commissioned Officers presented a memento to the Second Minister of Defence and the RBAF Commander.
Finally, to further cherish the night, both the Second Minister of Defence and RBAF Commander were invited to conduct the RBAF band followed by the signing of parchment by the Guest of Honour and RBAF Commander which then concluded the event.

Parade Pengambilan ke-18, Sekolah Pegawai Kadet telah menganjurkan Makan Malam Rejimental di Dewan Istiadat, Akademi Pertahanan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB).
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat adalah Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Menteri Pertahanan Kedua. Turut hadir adalah Mejar Jeneral Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Pemerintah ABDB, Pemerintah-pemerintah Angkatan Tentera, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama ABDB, Pemangku Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, Komandan Akademi Pertahanan, Pegawai Pemerintah Sekolah Pegawai Kadet, Pegawai-pegawai Kanan dan pegawai-pegawai baru ABDB.
Ketibaan Menteri Pertahanan Kedua telah disambut oleh pegawai-pegawai baru ABDB, diikuti dengan sesi gambar ramai dan majlis makan malam dengan diiringi persembahan pancaragam ABDB.
Makan Malam Rejimental diikuti dengan ucapan oleh 1353 Leftenan (U) Wan Mohd Hijazi bin Haji Yussof, penerima
Sword of Honour dimana dia memaparkan cabaran mereka semasa latihan di OCS serta menekankan satu pernyataan yang pernah disampaikan oleh Pemerintah ABDB semasa sesi perkongsian baru-baru ini, “Tidak memberi perbezaan sekalipun alasan anda semasa memasuki tempat ini, apa yang lebih memberi perbezaan adalah alasan kamu untuk meneruskannya”.
