SUNGAI AKAR CAMP, Thursday 3 December 2015 – Globalization and Information Technology are placing different, challenging demands on leaders and organizations in the area of organizational performance. Having a sound management strategy in place is the first step to achieve organizational success.

For this purpose, the Directorate of Administration and Manpower and Office of Strategy Management co-organised the Balanced Scorecard, Cascading of KRA & KPI And Translating Strategies into Operational Action Plans Workshop in three different sessions from October until December.

The workshops which were attended by seventy officers from the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed forces (RBAF), both civilian and military concluded today at the Command and Staff Course Building, Defence Academy RBAF in Sungai Akar Camp.

This workshop aimed to further heighten knowledge in translating strategies into operational plans which these officers have been implementing in their departments. In order to remain competitive, organisations have to place far more emphasis on identifying a strategy for the organisation to follow so that they are able to differentiate themselves from their counterparts. The key to the successful implementation of any strategy is in the execution. Organizations must be able to drive, translate and execute the strategy into operational terms at every level throughout the organization.

The workshop was facilitated by Mohd Shairulnizam Zuall Cobley a regional management consultant specializing in organizational effectiveness and corporate performance management. He is base in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Shairul core expertise is in the area of Strategic Planning and Organizational Development, having worked as senior managers and consultant in various industries from banking, telecommunication, regulatory body and management consulting.
