MANILA, REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES, 24 November 2023 – A total of thirteen members of the Veteran Association Royal Brunei Armed Forces (PERWIRA) led by the President of PERWIRA, Yang Mulia Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Ramli bin Abdul Hadis left for Manila, Republic of the Philippines today, to attend the 35th VECONAC (Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries) Executive Board Meeting and the 22nd General Conference. This year, the Republic of the Philippines is the host where the VECONAC Executive Board Meeting and General Conference will be held at the Sofitel Plaza Hotel, Manila from 26 to 30 November 2023.
VECONAC which was established in 1985 is a combination of veteran organizations from 10 ASEAN member countries: Brunei Darussalam, Kingdom of Cambodia, Republic of Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Union of Myanmar, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Kingdom of Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The VECONAC Executive Board Meeting and General Conference are held annually in member countries on a rotations basis.
This delegation will also be attended by 2 officers from the Veteran Affairs Office, Directorate of Personnel, Ministry of Defence.
AHLI-AHLI PERWIRA MENGHADIRI MESYUARAT VECONAC KALI KE-35 DAN PERSIDANGAN AGUNG KALI KE-22
MANILA, 24 November 2023 – Seramai 13 orang ahli Persatuan Veteran Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (PERWIRA) yang diketuai oleh Yang Di-Pertua PERWIRA, Yang Mulia Leftenan Kolonel (Bersara) Ramli bin Abdul Hadis telah berlepas ke Manila, Republik Filipina hari ini, untuk menghadiri Mesyuarat Badan Eksekutif VECONAC (Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries) ke-35 dan Persidangan Agung ke-22. Pada tahun ini, Republik Filipina menjadi tuan rumah dimana Mesyuarat Badan Eksekutif dan Persidangan Agung VECONAC ini akan diadakan di Sofitel Plaza Hotel, Manila pada 26 hingga 30 November 2023.
VECONAC yang ditubuhkan pada tahun 1985 merupakan gabungan pertubuhan-pertubuhan veteran dari 10 negara-negara ahli ASEAN iaitu Negara Brunei Darussalam, Kerajaan Kemboja, Republik Indonesia, Republik Demokratik Rakyat Lao, Malaysia, Republik Kesatuan Myanmar, Republik Filipina, Republik Singapura, Kerajaan Thailand dan Republik Sosialis Viet Nam. Mesyuarat Badan Eksekutif dan Persidangan Agung VECONAC diadakan setiap tahun di negara-negara ahli secara bergilir.
Rombongan ini juga akan dihadiri oleh 2 orang pegawai dari Pejabat Hal Ehwal Pesara Tentera, Jabatanarah Keanggotaan, Kementerian Pertahanan.
