BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sunday 3 November 2013– The JSC 2013 left Brunei Darussalam International Airport on 3 November 2013 for the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to commence a six days Staff Ride and Study Tour. The delegation comprising of 23 personnel including 19 students was headed by Major Suriyati binti Hj Junaidi, Chief Instructor of Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
The Staff Ride and Study Tour began in Hanoi, upon arrival the delegation was greeted by Brunei Darussalam Defence Attache to Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Officersfrom the Vietnam People’s Army. The JSC 2013 was given an exceptional introduction to Vietnam Defence Policy and an intellectual discussion on the Battle of Dien Bien Phu by Senior Officers of theVietnam People’s Army. The visit also included a visit to one of the Vietnam People’s Army military camp at Regiment 102. The delegation was also treated to some of the Vietnamese heritage and cultures amongst these were President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, Vietnam Military Museum, Hoa Lo Prison and Water Puppet Show.
The next itinerary for the Staff Ride was in Hue, the JSC 2013 delegation managed to indulge themselves on the cultural history of the Vietnamese people with visits to Hue Imperial city tour, which comprises of the Hue Citadel and Forbidden City of the Nguyen Kings.
The Staff Ride and Study Tour ended at Ho Chi Minh City, where the delegation experience first hand on how the Vietnamese fought the ‘American War’ at the Cu Chi Tunnels and also visiting the War Remnants Museum which emphasis on the atrocities of war in Vietnam. The JSC 2013 delegation have benefitted from the Staff Ride and Study Tour through first hand knowledge and experiences of the wars in Vietnam as well as the culture of the Vietnamese people. It is also an effort to enhance defence diplomacy.
KURSUS STAF RENDAH ADAKAN LAWATAN SAMBIL BELAJAR
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Ahad 3 November 2013 – Kursus Staf Rendah 2013 berlepas dari Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa
Brunei Darussalam pada 3 November 2013 ke Sosialis Republik Vietnam
bagi lawatan sambil belajar selama enam hari. Delegasi terdiri daripada
23 anggota termasuk 19 penuntut yang diketuai oleh Ketua Jurulatih
Akademi Pertahanan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei.
Lawatan
sambil belajar bermulanya di Kota Hanoi, dimana delegasi disambut oleh
Attase Pertahanan Brunei Darussalam ke Sosialis Republik Vietnam dan
Pegawai daripada Vietnam People’s Army. Kursus Staf Rendah 2013
diberikan taklimat pengenalan mengenai polisi pertahanan Vietnam serta
mengadakan perbincangan mengenai peperangan Dien Bien Phu yang diberikan
oleh Pegawai Kanan daripada Vietnam People’s Army. Delegasi juga
membuat lawatan ke salah satu perkhemahan tentera iaitu Rejimen 102.
Peluang untuk melawat beberapa tempat menarik termasuk warisan dan
kebudayaan Vietnam juga diadakan seperti Mausoleum Presiden Ho Chi Minh,
Muzium Tentera Vietnam, Penjara Hoa Lo dan pertunjukkan Water Puppet.
Lawatan
seterusnya membawa delegasi ke Hue, dimana terdapatnya sejarah
pemerintahan Raja – raja Nguyen dan bekesempatan untuk melawat Hue
Citadel dan Forbidden City.
Lawatan
sambil belajar berakhir di Kota Ho Chi Minh, delegasi tersebut telah
memperolehi pengalaman secara dekat tentang peperangan di Vietnam dengan
menerokai torowong Cu Chi yang digunakan oleh pihak penyokong Vietnam
Utara sepanjang peperangan bersama Tentera Amerika Syarikat. Manakala
Muzium War Remnants telah mempamerkan kekejaman peperangan di Vietnam.
Lawatan ini bukan sahaja memberikan pendedahan mengenai peperangan di
Vietnam dan warisan serta kebudayaan Sosialis Republik Vietnam kepada
delegasi Kursus Staf Rendah 2013 tetapi juga adalah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan diplomasi pertahanan.
