BERAKAS GARRISON, Wednesday 1 April 2015 – The Joint Force Headquarters conducted its study night with the topic entitled “The Future of Royal Brunei Armed Forces Peacekeeping Operations”.
The topic encompasses various aspects of United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Operations from the historical introduction, the current commitment and a proposal of way ahead for future UN Peacekeeping Operations force looking of short to long term plan.
The delivered topic is also in line with the Defence White Paper which highlighted Brunei Darussalam’s commitment and priority towards global peace within ASEAN context. Moreover, there is undoubtedly rising demands for peace related operations beyond borders.
As any study evening, it is intended as an educating as well as sharing session to all Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Officers. This may include issues, new development which is shared intended to enhance knowledge of the Ministry of Defence or RBAF.
Guest of honour for the evening was Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Deputy Minister of Defence. Also present were the RBAF Commander, members of Defence Executive Committee, Commandants, Directors and Officers of Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
Last night’s event was concluded with the presentation of prizes for the Essay Writing Competition for RBAF Officers and Ministry of Defence Civilian Officers 2014/2015 by the Commander of RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.
