BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 30 October 2014 – General TNI Gatot Nurmantyo, Army Chief of Staff Indonesian National Army (KASAD) had an introductory visit to Brunei Darussalam from 29 to 30 October 2014.The introductory visit began with courtesy calls to the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat and the Commander of RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah at the Ministry of Defence, Bolkiah Garrison.
This was followed by a visit to the Royal Brunei Land Forces Headquarters at Berakas Garrison. Upon arrival, General TNI Gatot Nurmantyo inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by the personnel from the Third Battalion RBLF. A courtesy call was made to the Commander RBLF, Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Yussof bin Haji Abd Rahman.
The visit was aimed at strengthening bonds, friendship and enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of defence between the two armies.
